All streaks were not meant to be broken
All streaks were not meant to be broken

While a lot of people shake their heads and start talking about how everything is fake when it comes to professional wrestling, they fail to realise that wins, losses, championships, and records all still matter in this world.

It doesn't matter if it's all scripted, there are streaks which are considered sacred to the fans who tune it regularly to the programming.

It doesn't matter if it's the WWE, Global Force Wrestling (formerly Impact Wrestling and further formerly TNA), New Japan Pro Wrestling, or Ring of Honor, every promotion takes great care in building up superstars through stats and records to help establish their dominance in kayfabe.

And, that is why these records and streaks are meant to be cherished. They do not always last; in fact, they never do. It's just how the business runs but at the end of the day, they do matter and their legacy will live on forever. And, we're here to discuss those legacies.

So, without any further ado, here is our list of five professional wrestlers and their impressive streaks:

#5 Goldberg and Asuka's winning streaks - 173-0 and 197-0

Goldberg held the ridiculous undefeated streak during his WCW days with a whopping 173 wins and 0 losses. Of course, these numbers are mostly untrue with very little verification, but is widely accepted at face value due to the popularity of the wrestler.

Beating that streak earlier this year was now former NXT Women's Champion, Asuka. The Japanese superstar amassed an incredible 197-0 record during her two-year stint in the WWE's developmental program. Goldberg even congratulated her on it, in the tweet below:

She also held the NXT Women's Championship for a staggering 523 days before relinquishing it due to injury. When Asuka makes her main roster debut, expect the winning streak to continue and for it to be used as a major part of her gimmick.
