5 Real-life relationships between WWE stars that ended badly
The life of a WWE Superstar looks fancy and amazing, but it is an extremely tough job. Talents must compete multiple times a week and are always on the road in different parts of the world.
While being on the road, stars develop a close bond with their co-workers, and it sometimes leads to a romantic relationship. We have instances of multiple wrestlers who met in the Stamford-based company and ended up getting married.
However, not every story has a beautiful ending; not all relationships work, and some see a nasty end that leaves a lifelong scar. In this article, let's take a look at some real-life WWE romances that ended on a bad note:
#5. Lita and Matt Hardy
Matt Hardy and Lita began dating in 1999. However, things changed in 2005 when Hardy went off the road due to a knee injury. During her boyfriend's absence, Lita started to travel with her and Matt’s good friend at that time, Adam Copeland (FKA Edge). This led to the two entering into a romantic relationship.
After Matt learned about the betrayal, he spilled the beans on the internet and was subsequently released from his WWE contract.
However, the veteran was recalled after the audience’s massive support for him, and the Vince McMahon-led creative team crafted an on-screen storyline based on the real-life incident. To this day, Matt and Lita are reportedly not on good terms with each other.
#4. CM Punk and Beth Phoenix
In 2024, CM Punk is a complete family man who went to war against Drew McIntyre after The Scottish Warrior disrespected his wife, AJ Lee, and his dog. However, before getting married, The Best in The World dated multiple WWE female stars, including Lita, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Maria Kanellis, and Beth Phoenix.
According to reports, Beth Phoenix and CM Punk dated each other in the year 2011. However, the relationship did not work out well, and they went their separate ways in 2012. Later, The Second City Saint slammed Phoenix and even said some harsh words about her, saying he was the one who ended the relationship.

#3. Liv Morgan and Enzo Amore
Enzo Amore was the one who brought Liv Morgan into the world of professional wrestling and also helped her get ready for her WWE tryout. They started dating during their stint in NXT.
However, Liv and Amore ended their relationship in 2017. The Miracle Kid informed fans about her breakup through a post on her X (Twitter) account in which she seemingly revealed Enzo cheated on her.
“Me knowing that I'm single and nobody cheating on me,” she wrote.
#2. Carmella and Big Cass
As of 2024, Carmella is married to WWE commentator Corey Graves. Many might not know that she dated Big Cass in the mid-2010s during their time together in NXT.
However, their relationship ended on a sour note, as they both had multiple disagreements. Carmella even shared the problems she faced in her relationship with Cass on an episode of Total Divas. Things took an ugly turn after an alleged physical altercation between the couple backstage, where Big Cass reportedly grabbed the 37-year-old's hand while she was walking away. Cass was ultimately fired from the company.
#1. Current WWE CCO Triple H and Chyna
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are one of the biggest power couples in the world of professional wrestling. The Game and The Billion Dollar Princess tied the knot in October 2003. However, before his relationship with Stephanie, Triple H dated Chyna.
The Ninth Wonder of The World later alleged Triple H dumped her to be with Stephanie, and her booking was also affected due to the bad blood between her and Vince McMahon's daughter. In an interview with Wrestling Inc. in 2011, Chyna revealed that she was fired from WWE following her altercation with Stephanie.
