5 Reasons Asuka will succeed on Raw
She was the most dominant NXT champion in the brand's existence, and now she is part of Monday Night Raw. Asuka wasn't just undefeated during her reign as champion; she was undefeated in NXT, period.
Her 500 plus day reign is the greatest championship reign of any competitor, man or women, over the last quarter of a century. We have seen undefeated streaks like Goldberg's, and successful reigns by the likes of John Cena and Brock Lesnar, but there has yet to be a female or male to attain all of these achievements.
Asuka raged through everyone and everything all the way to the top. She has beaten women in singles matches, multi-women matches, and what seemed like handicap matches, and it hasn't mattered who they were no one was able to stop her or even slow her down. What does the future hold for her on Raw? We believe she will only go up! Here are five reasons Asuka will be successful on Raw.
#5. Her build
Evan as it was announced that she was relinquishing her NXT women's championship, the foundation was already being laid for the Empress of Tomorrow's arrival on either Raw or Smackdown Live, through the announcement by William Regal that negotiations were already underway.
As Triple H stood in the ring and praised her achievements, the clear indication was that she was clearly being built as a competitor not to be messed with, whatever show she ended up on.
What followed was vignette after vignette promoting her arrival to the Raw roster. With each vignette that aired, the mystique, the aura, and the intrigue were clearly established.
Each one indicated that the former NXT women's champion was more than simply a woman with a geisha mask and brightly coloured hair. She was going to be something special, and a person that neither the men's nor women's divisions had ever seen before.
