5 reasons why CM Punk vs Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 41 is a good idea
CM Punk and Roman Reigns are two of the biggest stars in WWE. The Second City Saint agreed to team up with The Original Tribal Chief in the Men's WarGames match at Survivor Series last month in exchange for a favor from Paul Heyman. Roman Reigns pinned Solo Sikoa to earn the victory for the OG Bloodline at the premium live event.
A recent report suggests that WWE could be planning Reigns versus Punk at WrestleMania 41. The Show of Shows will take place next year at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Listed below are five reasons why CM Punk versus Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41 is a good idea.
#5. CM Punk would finally get to be in the main event of WWE WrestleMania
Roman Reigns typically headlines WrestleMania every year and has become the face of WWE. CM Punk remains one of the most popular stars in the business, and it could be the perfect opportunity for the former AEW star to main event WrestleMania.
Punk and Reigns will both be in action on RAW's debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025. Reigns will be squaring off against Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat match, and Punk is scheduled to battle Seth Rollins. Punk and Reigns could have a conflict next month on RAW and begin their rivalry on the road to WWE WrestleMania.
#4. It would free up a main event for female stars
WWE's women's division has become wildly popular as of late. Rhea Ripley helped bring the division to new heights, and Liv Morgan has been exceptional so far as Women's World Champion. The company also recently introduced the Women's Intercontinental and United States Championships. Chelsea Green defeated Mia Yim (Michin) to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion.
If the company decides to book CM Punk versus Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41, it would free up the main event for the female stars. WrestleMania is now two nights, and a match for the WWE Women's Championship or the Women's World Championship could be one of the main events next year.
#3. It would keep The Rock out of the main event of WrestleMania
The Rock made a surprise appearance earlier this year at Bad Blood. The Final Boss appeared after Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes' victory over Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at the premium live event. He stared at Rhodes and Reigns from the entrance ramp as the show went off the air. The Brahma Bull hasn't appeared since the premium live event in October, and there have been rumors that he will not be competing at WrestleMania 41 next year.
If the company decides to book Roman Reigns versus CM Punk at WWE WrestleMania 41, it would likely confirm that The Rock will not be competing on The Grandest Stage of Them All. This is a good thing, as the company should not have The Rock battle Roman Reigns until the 52-year-old's schedule is completely free so they can tell an interesting story before the match.
#2. Punk could finally pin Roman Reigns after having to make him look strong
CM Punk went on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast back in the day and discussed being told to make Roman Reigns look strong over and over again. The comment could come full circle if the two were to meet in a match at WrestleMania 41.
CM Punk and Reigns could square off at WrestleMania next year in what would be one of the biggest matches of all time. The former AEW World Champion may even defeat Reigns, as the latter has become vulnerable since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes earlier this year.
#1. Paul Heyman and CM Punk could reunite
CM Punk agreed to team up with the OG Bloodline for the Men's WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series in exchange for a favor from Paul Heyman. Roman Reigns asked The Wiseman what the favor was, but the Hall of Famer dodged the question.
Paul Heyman could reveal that CM Punk's favor was a WWE WrestleMania match against Reigns next year. Heyman may then decide to leave Reigns behind and become Punk's manager once again.
