What a way to open the show! Stephanie McMahon invited Becky Lynch to RAW this week, after the altercation that Lynch had with Rousey ahead of their WrestleMania match. As always, she was drowned in 'Becky' chants. McMahon urged Lynch to visit a doctor and get herself evaluated.
Lynch accused McMahon of never working a day in her life and not knowing about what struggle was. The segment ended with McMahon suspending Lynch until she got a medical evaluation done. And then Lynch socked Stephanie McMahon right in her face, in a segment that brought fans to life.
Why did Lynch attack Stephanie McMahon? To answer this question, we may have to go back 20 years, in my opinion.

It's the height of the Monday Night Wars. WCW is clear and away the superior brand with the launch of the nWo, with Sting in the rafters descending to take them out, and with a host of talent that once belonged to the WWE. Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon would then begin a feud that would change the fortunes of WWE and establish them as the industry's top promotion.
Fast forward two decades and AEW is on the horizon, ready to stake their claim. They could potentially be the next WCW if the promotion decides to play its cards right and they certainly have the financial backing to make a huge impact. WWE is now recreating the classic Austin-McMahon rivalry, only in the women's division now.
By taking out her boss, Becky Lynch has established herself as the female Stone Cold Steve Austin and could take the company to new heights. One wonders, however, if the reception to this feud will be as great as the original version.
