The audience, spell-bound by Paul Heyman’s oratorical grandiosity, may chant for Suplex City or count along as he manhandles his opponents with a barrage of suplexes, but that still doesn’t detract from the fact that Brock Lesnar is the WWE’s biggest heel today.
With only Kevin Owens on Raw and AJ Styles on SmackDown who can be considered as heel main event level players, the WWE faces an acute dearth of legitimate heels that can generate genuine heat within the audience; conversely, it is of little wonder that the WWE also struggles to get other Superstars over as babyfaces too.
He may only work a handful of dates – that too ‘lazily’ – in a year, but Brock Lesnar’s ominous skill-set coupled with Heyman’s forceful verbiage makes for compelling viewing.
And his occasional visits to the Octagon that result in the mauling of some legitimate UFC Heavyweight Fighter, only serve to pad up the aura that he already exudes.
