5 reasons why John Cena should turn heel in 2018

John Cena has been the face of WWE for around 15 years. He may have started his career as an obnoxious heel, but WWE realized the potential of The Franchise and turned him into a babyface. Cena has since then gone on to become the most popular face in WWE history and has become one of the most consistent performers of the past two decades.

Cena's run as a top babyface was much loved by wrestling fans during the 2000s. But with performers like AJ Styles and Roman Reigns gaining ranks as faces day by day, Cena has just become plain and stale. The character which made John Cena who he is today now gets booed with "John Cena Sucks" chants.

Cena is not the top merchandise selling artist anymore. Maybe it's because the fans have become tired of his heroic persona, and expect a change of character from The Champ.

A heel turn for John Cena will surely get a positive response from the WWE Universe as a revamp in his character will bring the best out of him. 2018 is the perfect time to pull the trigger and turn John Cena heel. Here are five reasons in support of this statement.

#5 Boring babyface character

His character needs a fresh start.
His character needs a fresh start.

John Cena has been a babyface for over ten years. His character hasn’t evolved for over a decade. Cena needs to turn heel because he’s been stale as a face for far too long.

John has become so clean cut that fans have started turning on him. The WWE Universe appears to like its superstars a little dirty, someone who's always not adhering to Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect.

Remember how Hulk Hogan's heel turn was received with loud cheers from the fans? Cena's situation is no different. A change from his politically correct and children-friendly attitude to a cockier badass will make him the hottest star in WWE once again.
