5 Reasons why Kurt Angle didn't announce his retirement on RAW

So it's official. They're going with the whole "Veteran on a downward spiral storyline" with Kurt Angle. It's a good story to tell in the right stage of his career. Kurt Angle was once among the most dominant superstars in WWE at its peak.

He also happens to be the fastest learner in the history of the business, wrestling on a main event level merely a year into his first run with the company. He's won multiple World Championships and accomplished nearly everything there is to accomplish in the pro wrestling business.

However, his role in WWE has changed now. He's a veteran who's putting over younger superstars, and he isn't even the General Manager of RAW anymore. With a lot of uncertainty and a humiliating defeat to Baron Corbin, it seemed like Angle was going to hang up the boots on the latest episode of RAW.

Except, he didn't. He teased a retirement, but Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre interrupted him. They were on the verge of attacking him again, but Braun Strowman, a man who has a bone to pick with both the superstars came out for the save.

The main event saw Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman face McIntyre & Corbin. They lost by DQ but stood tall at the end. Here's why Angle didn't announce his retirement as expected.

#5. It was too obvious

This one is a no-brainer. Everyone expected that there was going to be some angle (no pun intended) if Kurt Angle teased his retirement. They did the fake retirement speech bit brilliantly with Mark Henry, but that was over five and a half years now.

Angle may be close to the end of his career, but the fact is that announcing it on RAW like this would be underwhelming and obvious.
