5 reasons why Roman Reigns must beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34

Roman Reigns is set to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship this WrestleMania. This will be Reigns’ fourth straight year in the main-event of Wrestlemania if they do not make Styles VS Nakamura the last match (which is unlikely).

This match has been in the making, since WrestleMania 31, when Lesnar and Reigns collided for the first time. Since every story requires an ending, culminating this feud at WrestleMania is the best option for WWE. They have two well-built wrestlers ready to settle unfinished business.

But many fans have voiced their dislike for this match. They dislike the fact that Roman Reigns has been handed opportunity after opportunity to headline WrestleMania. This match was, however, set in stone, and it will take something very big for WWE to change their plans this close to WrestleMania.

So, whether we like this match or not we have to hope for the best outcome. So here are five reasons why Roman Reigns should walk out of WrestleMania as the new Universal Championship.

#5 RAW needs a full-time champion

A full-time champion
A full-time champion means regular Universal Championship matches

RAW has a lot of main-event talent, but since Lesnar has been champion there has been no top-tier championship for them to compete for on a weekly basis. Lesnar has only defended his championship four times in the past year. His first was against Samoa Joe at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view and his last was against Strowman and Kane in a triple-threat match at Royal Rumble in January.

With the top title of the brand on a part-timer, RAW has relied heavily on the Intercontinental Championship. Most of the top stars of the brand have feuded over the championship for the past one year.

Although it has helped elevate the importance of the championship; it has seriously hurt other mid-carders. For instance, Elias deserves to be in the Intercontinental Championship picture. He is a good heel and would do well as an Intercontinental champion, but since the top stars were already competing for it, he didn’t get a chance.

When Roman becomes champion, he will be a full-time champion. The top stars will be contending for the Universal Championship, leaving the Intercontinental Championship for the mid-card.

Surely, after Mania, many injured wrestlers will also be returning so the upper mid-card will be packed. Hence, having both the Intercontinental Championship and Universal Championship on TV every week will help a lot of wrestlers and create many new feuds.
