5 reasons why The Bar interfered in the Champion vs Champion match on RAW
On Monday Night RAW, the show opened with Seth Rollins, who was talking about his incredible win over Brock Lesnar and the consequences of it. He was interfered, not by his next rival, but an immediate challenger in Kofi Kingston, the WWE Champion.
It turned out to be a very interesting confrontation and the new WWE Champion wanted a fight right away. Looking at the main event of WrestleMania with the "Winner Takes All" stipulation that Becky Lynch won, Kofi Kingston felt inspired to do the same.
So he challenged Seth Rollins to a champion vs champion match in the main event of RAW. There was a lot of scepticism because of a possible unification, but as expected, it ended with interference - from The Bar of all people.
But the real question is as to why Sheamus and Cesaro were the ones who interfered in the match. They turned it into a tag team contest, where the champions predictably won. Here are a few theories on why The Bar interfered.
#5. A happy ending to the RAW after WrestleMania
While the crowd wasn't exactly happy that the champion vs champion match ended abruptly, the fact of the matter is that it saw a happy ending. Nobody would have really wanted to see either man lose their title and the best possible way of going about it would be to have the two champions stand tall together.
This led to a classic tag team bout where the babyfaces won. Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins even proved to have great chemistry together and though it's a one-off tag team, it certainly would be interesting to see them team up again.
Either way, that may never happen until they're on the same brand - something that will not be happening anytime soon.
