WWE WrestleMania 35: 5 Reasons why the Raw Women's Championship match needs to close the show

The highly anticipated three-way has all the ingredients to become an instant classic.
The highly anticipated three-way has all the ingredients to become an instant classic.

The seeds for a women's match headlining the show of shows were planted right after Wrestlemania 34 last year. The dirt sheets began reporting that the WWE was planning on having Charlotte Flair challenge Ronda Rousey at the 35th edition of the annual extravaganza.

The plans suddenly took a turn when a bloodied Becky Lynch closed the Raw before Survivor Series, taking social media by storm and completing her transformation from a bubbly, cheerful face to a no-nonsense, fearless badass!

As of now, Becky is suspended and out of the match, but one doesn't need to be a wrestling expert to realize that this storyline is heading towards a triple threat match for the Raw women's title at the grandest stage of them all. The problem?

There's still no confirmation on whether the match will be the main event of the show or not. Vince Mcmahon has been known to make last minute changes to major matches and is still unsure on the placement of the three-way showdown on the Mania card. There's still a possibility of Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar to headline the April Classic but, it's may finally be time for the women to shine on the biggest platform in sports entertainment.

Here are five reasons why that shouldn't happen and why the triple threat should close WrestleMania 35...

#5 The culmination of the Women's Revolution

The women's revolution has done wonders for women in the WWE.
The women's revolution has done wonders for women in the WWE.

We have come a long way from the time when women's matches were considered nothing more than 2-minute bathroom breaks. They were treated more as eye candies than actual wrestlers. The women's revolution changed all that and the division improved tenfold over the course of four years.

Women got their own specialty matches - be it Hell in a Cell, Royal Rumble or the Elimination Chamber. The four horsewomen, AJ Lee, Paige and a bunch of other wrestlers gave us some amazing moments and solidified the fact that women were capable of doing much more than what the WWE had allowed them to do in the past.

The Raw women's title match is the culmination of the women's revolution. It's a pivotal moment that's the result of years of consistent hard work and determination on the women's part. It deserves to be the match that closes the show. WWE owes it to its women.
