5 reasons why The Revival won the RAW Tag Team Championship

The Revival has finally done it. After 22 months on the Monday Night RAW roster, they've finally become RAW Tag Team Champions. It's really surprising if you think about it, because they're by far the best tag team on the red brand (at least since the last Superstar Shake-Up) and they were screwed out of multiple title opportunities and near wins.

In that regard, despite portraying heels throughout their time, they've actually been babyfaces. Going all the way back to when Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler were still a team, they got screwed out of the match which McIntyre & Ziggler ended up winning anyway.

Throughout December, they would find themselves in the victim-side of all sorts of controversial title match finishes. They have basically been the only real contenders for the last few months, and it's finally paid off for The Top Guys.

After a fantastic contest on a rather dull episode of RAW, we have new tag team champions. Here are a few reasons why.

#5 The rumours of them leaving

This was probably the most obvious reason. The Revival was heavily rumoured to have requested their releases from WWE. There's a certain truth about rumours like this, especially when it gets so widespread.

With the clear option of AEW and good paychecks, WWE knew that they couldn't lose The Revival. The RAW Tag Team division has basically been in shambles since post-WrestleMania 34, and the last thing that they need is for the tag team division to lose two major players to their to-be competitors.

The Revival may not have just gotten a title, but it's highly possible that they got a pay raise as well. If that was the case, then good for them. Either way, they were long overdue for a title win, and they finally got their moment.
