5 Reasons WWE Needs Drake Maverick As A Heel Manager
Drake Maverick would make a great heel manager in WWE. The wrestling world has seen his heel work in Impact Wrestling where he was known as Rockstar Spud. where he was far more interesting and entertaining as a heel. The sky would be the limit for Maverick, manager of villains.
Maverick is currently the babyface general manager of the WWE 205 Live. Making him the 205 Live GM was a great way to introduce him to the WWE Universe but his talents are being wasted in this role. Maverick’s talents would be better served as a heel manager on Raw or SmackDown Live.
Here are 5 reasons why WWE needs Drake Maverick as a heel manager.
#5 Manager Hole
WWE briefly experimented with Paul Heyman managing lower tier talent to help elevate them; Superstars like Curtis Axel and Cesaro were “Paul Heyman Guys”. But, it wasn’t long before Heyman’s only guy was Brock Lesnar.
This left a huge managerial hole in WWE that has yet to be filled. WWE managers range from not very good (Titus O’Neil) to stuck on one guy (Heyman, Zelina Vega). After Heyman, Cesaro found tag team success with Sheamus as The Bar.
Not everyone has been so lucky. Axel didn’t find success again until he became part of The Miztourage. Unfortunately, the WWE Superstar Shake-up has left Axel and teammate Bo Dallas without a mouthpiece. Guys like Axel and Dallas need a manager to help get them over with fans.
Maverick has the talent to help guys like Axel and Dallas, and the talent to fill the managerial hole left by Heyman.
