5 released WWE stars who need to return at Royal Rumble 2025
WWE Royal Rumble 2025 will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana next February. The premium live event is one of the biggest spectacles of the year, and the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble Match winners will receive a guaranteed title shot at WrestleMania.
There have been a bunch of talented performers released by the company. Some stars deserve another chance in WWE, and the company may be considering some surprise returns at Royal Rumble 2025.
Listed below are five stars who need to return at the Royal Rumble event next year.
#5. Baron Corbin should return to WWE during the Men's Royal Rumble Match next year
Baron Corbin had an impressive run in the company and is a former United States Champion. He also captured the NXT Tag Team Championship with Bron Breakker earlier this year.
The Lone Wolf's contract was not renewed by the company ahead of Crown Jewel 2024. Corbin gained a lot of fans during his time in WWE, and could make a surprise return as a surprise entrant in the Men's Royal Rumble Match next year.
#4. Jinder Mahal must return during the Men's Royal Rumble Match
Jinder Mahal squared off against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship earlier this year and got into a war of words with the AEW President Tony Khan following the match.
The veteran was released by WWE in April after a remarkable run with the company. The 38-year-old would likely get a great reaction from wrestling fans if he were to make his return at Royal Rumble 2025.
#3. Indi Hartwell should return during the Women's Royal Rumble Match
Indi Hartwell was released by the company ahead of Crown Jewel 2024. Hartwell is a former NXT Women's Champion and NXT Tag Team Champion alongside Candice LeRae, but did not have the same success on the main roster.
The company could decide to bring Hartwell back as she is only 28 years old and still has a ton of potential. Hartwell may return as a surprise entrant during the Women's Royal Rumble Match next year.
#2. Elias must return at Royal Rumble 2025
Elias was released by the company in September 2023 but has remained active on the independent wrestling scene following his departure from the company. His last match with the company was the Battle Royal won by Mustafa Ali on the May 15 edition of WWE RAW. Mustafa Ali was also released by the company in September 2023.
The 37-year-old is still in phenomenal shape and developed a connection with wrestling fans during his years with the company. Elias may return during the Men's Royal Rumble next year, or his alter ego/brother Ezekiel could make an appearance as well.
#1. Cameron Grimes needs to return to the company next year
Cameron Grimes had a very disappointing run on the main roster after a successful tenure in NXT. The former North American Champion was released in April earlier this year and shared a heartbreaking video following his departure from the company.
The 31-year-old still has the potential to be a major star and the company may decide to give him another chance next year. Grimes could return during the Men's Royal Rumble Match next February and have an impressive showing during his return to the company.
