Wrestlemania season is around the corner, and while fans love to see the biggest stars in the business at the event, it is also the perfect place to build a future superstar. It is the ultimate opportunity for rising performers to make their mark on the wrestling industry.

Daniel Bryan's emotional win in Wrestlemania 30 was the crowning moment of a superstar who fought every obstacle possible to achieve the victory that will live on forever in the memories of fans. He needed that opportunity.

All focus will be on Wrestlemania 35, which may provide us with the moments from which a new breakout star emerges. It's a very tough prediction to make, given the fact that at last year's Wrestlemania, what could have been Shinsuke Nakamura's breakout moment, only translated into a heel turn that spelt misery on the main roster for him.

But fans can always be hopeful, and here's a list of 5 rising superstars who should get their opportunity at Wrestlemania 35:

#5 Nikki Cross

Asuka defeated Becky Lynch clean at Royal Rumble, and yet she wasn't even featured on both episodes of SmackDown Live after the Royal Rumble.

Due to the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match at Elimination Chamber, it is somewhat possible that Asuka may not be required to defend her title at the PPV. Also, given that both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are intent on facing Ronda Rousey, who will face Asuka at Wrestlemania?

How about Nikki Cross?

The new NXT call-ups (EC3, Heavy Machinery, Lacey Evans, Lars Sullivan, and Nikki Cross) haven't been designated to a particular brand yet, so Nikki's chances of challenging Asuka isn't beyond possibility.

An Asuka-Nikki feud is something really worth looking forward to. While WWE has pushed the Becky Lynch-Charlotte Flair match at Evolution last year as the first ever last woman standing match, Asuka vs Nikki Cross in NXT was the actual first ever last woman standing match under the WWE banner. And what a gruelling encounter that was.

There is history between them, and a match between these two is definitely a very enticing concept that WWE can put to paper in the coming weeks. An excellent showing on the grandest stage of the year should propel Nikki Cross to main-event level status, rather than being just another NXT call-up.
