5 Royal Rumble Records the WWE Might Break at The Greatest Royal Rumble
This Friday evening, the WWE will host the Greatest Royal Rumble event live from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The event, which will see nearly every title defended (women are banned from the event), will host the company's biggest ever Royal Rumble match, with fifty men competing in the bout.
With the event taking place in less than 48 hours, there are still a lot of unanswered questions surrounding the Royal Rumble match itself. The company is yet to announce a prize for the winner, and it is not yet clear as to whether or not the match will count as an official part of Royal Rumble canon.
If the match is being treated as an official Royal Rumble bout, then the match size will allow the company the opportunity to break several Royal Rumble records at the event.
The company are eager to impress the Saudi audience, so giving up a few Rumble records in order to create some historic moments is very much a possibility.

#5 Longest time spent in a Rumble match
Current record: Rey Mysterio, 1:02:12 (2006)
Most likely to beat it: Seth Rollins
Given that the Greatest Royal Rumble match will feature more Superstars than any other in Rumble history, it seems a fairly safe bet to assume that the match will go much longer than the annual 30-man Royal Rumble.
The company's biggest Royal Rumble match took place in 2011, when 40 Superstars battled it out for 1 hour and 9 minutes, in a match that ultimately won by Alberto Del Rio.
The longer match-time will provide the WWE with the opportunity to break several long-standing Rumble records, the most notable of which being the longest amount of time spent in a Royal Rumble match by a competitor.
The current record is held by Rey Mysterio, who survived for 1 hour and 2 minutes on his way to victory in the 2006 Royal Rumble. Mysterio entered at number 2 and went on to win the whole match, which would make it an extremely difficult record to break in a normal 30 man Royal Rumble match.
Of all the current roster members, current Intercontinental champion, Seth Rollins, would make the ideal candidate to break this record on Friday night. Rollins recently performed for an hour and four minutes in a gauntlet match on Raw, breaking a long-standing iron-man record in the process.
Rollins breaking yet another iron-man record on Friday night could really get him over as one of the hardest working men in the company, and really help establish himself as a main event title competitor once again.
