5 Signs Paul Heyman has left Roman Reigns for The RockĀ

Paul Heyman's absence from WWE TV could spell the end of his association with Roman Reigns. After all, loyalty isn't known to be The Wiseman's strongest suit.

Since the summer of 2020, The Bloodline Saga has kept fans captivated with its intricate storytelling comprising unrivaled emotional moments and dramatic twists. So, to keep fueling interest in this story, WWE could have Paul Heyman turn his back on Roman Reigns and align with The Rock. On the latest episode of SmackDown, it was established that The Original Tribal Chief and The Wiseman haven't been in contact since WrestleMania XL.

If that is the direction this story ends up taking, there has to be plausible logic behind Paul Heyman choosing The Brahma Bull over The Head of the Table. Below are four reasons that make sense.

#5. The phone Heyman used for contacting Reigns was broken, unlike the one he used to speak to The Rock

After losing at WrestleMania XL, Roman Reigns took a lengthy break, leaving his Bloodline stablemates to deal with the fallout.

During The OTC's absence, Solo Sikoa took charge of The Bloodline and kicked out Jimmy Uso to revamp the group by roping in his own members. Furthermore, he ceased communication between Paul Heyman and Reigns by destroying the former's phone. That explains why The Head of the Table wasn't able to reach out to Heyman on SmackDown.

However, for those who forgot, The Special Counsel had another phone, with which he used to keep The Rock updated on the Road to WrestleMania. So, there is a high chance that The Final Boss and The Wiseman never stopped communicating.

#4. Reigns didn't show up for Heyman while he was being intimidated by the new Bloodline

The post-WrestleMania XL season was anything but a smooth journey for Paul Heyman. The absence of his Tribal Chief, followed by the ascension of the new Bloodline, overwhelmed the ECW legend with stress.

At one point, things got so bleak that The Wiseman asked CM Punk to save him from Solo Sikoa and his then-new allies. Throughout this tense period, not once did Paul Heyman receive a word of assurance from The Head of the Table. Eventually, the new Bloodline ditched The Wiseman via a heinous attack.

So, over the last few months, Paul Heyman might have realized that it was time to waddle away from Roman Reigns and find a new associate. In that case, linking up with The Rock and benefitting from his influence would be a move right up The Mad Genius' alley.

#3. Recent rumors indicated The Rock and The Wiseman becoming a duo

At almost every key stage of the ongoing Bloodline saga, multiple rumors have popped up, keeping the fans at the edge of their seats. One recent rumor, if it came true, could turn out to be the biggest twist in the four-year-long story.

The aforementioned rumor hinted at Paul Heyman making his long-awaited return alongside The Brahma Bull. Yes, The Rock made a brief appearance at the end of Bad Blood, but that wasn't a full-fledged return since it didn't have any immediate storyline implications.

The last time The Great One spoke on WWE TV, he assured Cody Rhodes that their story was far from over. So, given that the OG Bloodline has reunited with no traces of Paul Heyman, The Rock may have already scooped up The Wiseman to represent him in his upcoming feud with The American Nightmare.

#2. It would be reminiscent of how Paul Heyman abandoned Brock Lesnar for Roman Reigns

Over the last four years, several fans have dubbed The Bloodline story 'Cinema.' One of the most cherished concepts of stellar 'Cinema' is parallel storytelling, and that is exactly what fans might be in store for.

After a lengthy absence, Paul Heyman returned to WWE in 2012 as Brock Lesnar's advocate. The iconic duo stuck together until The Beast Incarnate disappeared after WrestleMania 36. A few months later, Heyman found a new top star to represent in Roman Reigns and stayed by his side even after Lesnar made his return in 2021.

So, Paul Heyman drifting apart from The OTC during his lengthy absence earlier this year and pledging his allegiance to The Final Boss would be a striking parallel to how Reigns acquired The Wiseman's services in the first place.

#1. The WWE Hall of Famer has never been a full-blown babyface for more than a few weeks at a time

Some wrestling personalities are meant to thrive as slimy heels, and Paul Heyman has always been one of them. At this stage of his legendary career, it might not be a wise move to change that.

Throughout his iconic WWE run, comprised of managing generational stars such as Brock Lesnar, The Big Show, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns, The Special Counsel has steered clear of the opportunity to portray a babyface for more than a few weeks at a time. Perhaps that's been a deliberate strategy on WWE's part, which might remain intact for the remainder of his career.

Therefore, fans eagerly anticipating Roman Reigns to reunite with his Wiseman might be in for sheer disappointment. It's unlikely The OTC will turn heel again anytime soon, so Heyman might have already made up his mind to side with the next big bad of the company, The Final Boss himself.
