5 Superstars new to the main roster who could be huge stars in WWE

One big problem WWE has had over the last five years is creating new stars out of its incredibly deep and talented roster. Instead of making wrestlers like Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman or Asuka huge stars, they have each undergone questionable booking while being members of the main roster.

Had WWE maintained Asuka's undefeated streak or kept her magical aura, they'd have another huge female star to build around. Instead, she unceremoniously lost her SmackDown Women's Title to Charlotte Flair two weeks before WrestleMania 35 (and had already lost to Charlotte Flair the prior year at WrestleMania 34). She was then put into a tag team with Kairi Sane but hasn't been on TV lately.

Bray Wyatt was and still is a special performer on the mic as evidenced by his weekly promos. Although he did end up winning the WWE Championship, he didn't defend it more than two times, instead losing it to Randy Orton at the following PPV. Wyatt talked a big game, but in the end, he was booked to lose to John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and the Undertaker.

Braun Strowman was white hot over the last two years, but every time he challenged for a major title, he was booked to lose. He fell to Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns numerous times. His lone title win as a Raw Tag Team Champion lasted a whole day.

WWE essentially called up 10 NXT acts at the beginning of 2019, with five debuting in January and four more following suit the next month. While the results have been mixed, there are certainly several new wrestlers to the main roster that could be big stars in WWE.

The one big caveat, however, is if they are booked favourably in big spots. One Superstar on this list has been on the main roster for a year but has recently been getting some decent booking. Along with him, here are five wrestlers new to the main roster who could one day be huge stars in WWE.

#5. Buddy Murphy

Usually when a wrestler went to 205 Live in its early stages, it wasn't a great sign for that wrestler. But once Triple H took over, the show became more about the action and a little less about silly storylines.

Buddy Murphy had been in NXT for a long time, and in order to 'graduate' from NXT, he was shifted to the purple brand. His debut was memorable because a big deal was made of him making weight.

His matches were always great, especially on the PPVs on which he defended the Cruiserweight Title. Murphy is a great blend of speed and power and he can pull off moves similar to Finn Balor in the air. I'd say he's a bit more explosive than Balor though.

Murphy was recently moved to SmackDown during the Superstar Shake Up but has yet to have a match on the blue brand. Once he does, those who haven't seen his matches on PPVs or watched 205 Live will indeed find out why he could be a big star and why he calls himself 'the Best Kept Secret' in WWE.
