5 Superstars who impressed on this week's SmackDown (29th November 2019)
This week's SmackDown was pretty great in terms of storytelling and feud building, but not so much in terms of pure wrestling action. This Friday night was all about WWE's Universal Champion The Fiend Bray Wyatt as he carried the whole show on his back.
The episode started with Roman Reigns addressing SmackDown's performance at Survivor Series and then beating Robert Roode in a singles match. The Big Dog then went on to destroy both Dolph Ziggler and Roode.
After that, we saw The Firefly Fun House episode in which Wyatt revealed The Fiend's customized Universal Championship. Furthermore, after beating Mandy Rose in singles action, Nikki Cross was attacked by Fire & Desire and a returning Alexa Bliss made the save.
Moreover, The New Day managed to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro. Two more Superstars returned this week, namely Elias and Sheamus. The former teased an on-screen pairing with Dana Brooke, while the latter teased a revamped character.
Last but not the least, Daniel Bryan accepted Bray Wyatt's challenge to a match for the Universal Championship, before The Fiend attacked the leader of the Yes Movement.
With all that in mind, let's take a look at the five Superstars who impressed on this week's episode of the Blue brand:
#5 Alexa Bliss
Well, the Goddess Alexa Bliss is back and there's no easy way to describe how much SmackDown needed her. Her return wasn't expected this week but it did happen as she saved her best friend Nikki Cross from a potential beatdown at the hands of Fire & Desire.
Bliss didn't miss a beat as she looked better than ever and every move of her inside the ring was on point. The Goddess has returned as a babyface, it seems and women babyfaces are somewhat rare on the Blue brand.
#4 Sheamus
Finally, this week on SmackDown, we saw a minute and a half long promo package of a returning Sheamus. From its initial looks, it seems the Celtic Warrior will return with a different gimmick, which seemingly rules out a pairing with Cesaro.
Maybe we will get to see the old Sheamus back, that is the Sheamus of the early 2010s. Nevertheless, the crowd was really happy to see him and he could be an important member for SmackDown on FOX.
Sheamus excelled with his promo work in the short video this week and we can't wait to see him back in a WWE ring.
