5 Superstars who made a miraculous return from injury
Professional wrestlers put their bodies on the line everytime they step foot in the squared circle. With so much risk involved, it isn't surprising that a career of a wrestler and injuries walk hand in hand. Injuries are the worst nightmare of any wrestler.
Take Becky Lynch for example who missed out on a huge opportunity to face Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series. However, injuries can be much more severe.
In the past few years, we have seen many of our favorite wrestlers lose a huge push due to injuries.
Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Wade Barrett are a few of the wrestlers who were struck by serious injuries when they were at the peak of their careers.
At the same time, several stars were forced to retire permanently due to injuries. Bret Hart and Edge are two names in a long list of wrestlers who were barred from competing in the ring again.
Despite that, in the last few decades, there have been wrestlers who did not let these injuries stop them from achieving their goals.
Not only did these guys wrestle again in the squared circle, but they also made it to the top of the mountain. Here are five superstars who made a miraculous return from injuries.
#5 John Cena
John Cena is no stranger to injuries and has suffered through multiple injuries in his career. However, just like in his matches, Super Cena has overcome the adversities in an unbelievable short period of time. In October 2007, the Franchise Player tore his pectoral muscle on an edition of Raw. The injury forced Cena to relinquish his WWE Championship.
John Cena was rumored to be on the sidelines for as long as a year. Contrary to that belief, the Cenation Leader made his return at the 2008 Royal Rumble less than 4 months after his injury. John Cena would go on to win his first ever Royal Rumble match in 2008. Cena's return at the 2008 Royal Rumble is widely considered as one of the most shocking returns in WWE's history.
