5 Superstars Who Should Recieve a Title Run in 2019
While there are many titles in the WWE brand, not every superstar gets their chance to shine. Sometimes unlikely superstars like Jinder Mahal have a long Championship reign, while more admired superstars like Sasha Banks can't get a month with the belt.
The current roster may very well be the deepest pool of superstars in the company’s history. The WWE has five shows that feature championship belts, in addition to Main Event. There are so many superstars that many times, especially on the main roster, they get lost in the shuffle with no direction.
Becoming a champion and getting a memorable title run is what every wrestler hopes to achieve someday. The WWE championship is the premiere belt, but if the storylines and character are there, even a mid-card reign will elevate your status to the elite. Seth Rollins and The Miz were the most recent examples of raising the Intercontinental Title as the most popular championship on that brand.
Below we will highlight five superstars who should get a title run in 2019.
#5 Elias – Intercontinental Champion
Back in NXT, Elias was a good performer, but nothing special. Since debuting on the main roster, he has taken off. Elias is one of the hottest acts in all of WWE. His character has shown that the WWE Universe truly “WALKS WITH ELIAS!”. His heel performances generate some of the most natural adverse reactions from the crowd, while his recent face run was cheered.
Elias is a pretty good worker in the ring. He has a look that Vince McMahon loves, and he is athletic enough to pull off some sweet spots. His storytelling during matches is also pretty good.
There was a rumor that before some unfortunate events with Roman Reigns and other stars, that Elias was slated to win the IC title. It’s sad that he didn't get the belt, but also shows that WWE is aware of the drawing power that Elias has. With notable wins over big superstars, including John Cena, 2019 is the perfect time to revisit putting a title around the waist of Elias.
