5 Superstars who will almost certainly win the WWE/Universal Championship in 2020
2019 has been the year of the underdog with Kofi Kingston winning his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania this year, and Seth Rollins finally managing to beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.
However, the era of the underdog is now over as the WWE Championship and Universal Championship are now held by Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt respectively. These two Superstars have been booked as unstoppable forces and it will be difficult for any Superstar to be able to snatch the World Championship from their grasp.
Here, we take a look at 5 Superstars who will most likely be able to climb the mountain peak in 2020:
#5 Baron Corbin
The King of WWE, Baron Corbin is reportedly one of the favourites backstage which explains the constant push that Corbin has received ever since he made his way to the main roster.
It is a known fact that The King is well regarded by Vince McMahon and Triple H backstage which could be a major reason for his ongoing push. Corbin is currently feuding with The Big Dog of WWE - Roman Reigns - and even if he does not win the payoff match (whenever that happens), a program with one of the biggest names on SmackDown clearly shows the confidence the management has in him.
Baron Corbin had come close to winning the WWE Championship when he managed to win the MITB briefcase, but surprisingly, he failed to cash-in the opportunity at the time. While at the time it may have seemed that the company had given up on Corbin, it is evident that they were merely biding time to heavily push him again.
King Corbin continues to be one of the best heels in the company given the amount of hatred he can provoke from the fans, and it would be surprising if Corbin does not win the Universal Championship by the end of next year.
