5 things CM Punk can do on RAW following Drew McIntyre's suspension
The feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre has gone nuclear following this year’s WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. The former once again crushed the latter’s dream of becoming the World Champion by launching a sneak attack on McIntyre, right after he had cashed in his MITB contract.
What followed was utter chaos as the Scot went ballistic backstage, even putting his hands on RAW GM, Adam Pearce, which resulted in his indefinite suspension. Provided that Punk makes an appearance during this week’s edition of WWE RAW, it is likely that he’ll be taking advantage of it and do something that would certainly make McIntyre livid.
Here are some things that The Second City Saint might do on RAW following The Scottish Warrior’s indefinite suspension from WWE.
#5. CM Punk providing a positive injury update
CM Punk hasn’t wrestled in a while due to a torn tricep injury he picked up while competing during this year’s Royal Rumble Match. The extent of the injury was so serious that it resulted in him being barred from in-ring competition for a period of six to eight months.
Now that Punk is nearing the aforementioned recovery period, he could be providing a positive update regarding the status of his injury. When asked about it during the MITB post-show press conference, Punk did not disclose details regarding his injury. However, he hinted that he “feels great and ready to go.”
With that in mind, the former WWE champion could make things official during this week’s edition of RAW regarding his in-ring return.
#4. Backstage segment with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce
As mentioned, Drew McIntyre was furious after a failed cash-in during Money in the Bank due to CM Punk’s interference.
This was clear during the PLE’s post-show where The Scottish Warrior wreaked havoc on the set. There was even a part where things got heated between him and RAW General Manager, Adam Pearce.
CM Punk might use it to his advantage and could share a backstage segment with the GM and possibly sway Pearce into implementing tougher sanctions on McIntyre. If such comes to fruition, expect McIntyre to go nuclear on Punk.
#3. Cut a promo addressing what happened during Money in the Bank
Both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been going back and forth since their feud began early this year.
Two of the most recent incidents were during the June 21 episode of SmackDown where McIntyre bloodied Punk senseless and the other was during the Money in the Bank this past weekend.
This promo could come alongside his injury update or could be done in a separate segment. The Second City Saint is known for his phenomenal mic work and can hype up the WWE Universe with ease.
It can be recalled his infamous Pipebomb promo back in 2011, not to mention that it became one of RAW’s most controversial episodes.
#2. Igniting another feud with Seth Rollins
CM Punk’s interference that resulted in Drew McIntyre’s failed cash-in during Money in the Bank also affected Seth Rollins in a major way.
The match between the former champion and reigning World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest has a stipulation that if Rollins won, The Judgment Day member would have to leave his faction, although if he retained his title, then The Visionary would never challenge for the World Title as long as the Archer of Infamy held it
The outcome of the match went against Rollins, as Priest successfully defended his title thanks to Punk’s meddling. This resulted in the 38-year-old's dream of becoming World Heavyweight Champion again being crushed, now that he cannot demand a rematch as long as Priest is still champion.
Rollins was very upset with what happened and if it weren’t for Corey Graves trying to pacify his friend, Punk and The Visionary might have gone at it immediately after the bout. A plausible scenario that might transpire during this week’s RAW could be when Punk is amidst a promo and Rollins shows up to confront him, leading to a feud between the two.
#1. An all-out brawl between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre on RAW
The WWE Universe is well aware by now that Drew McIntyre has been indefinitely suspended after his recent actions during MITB.
The WWE Superstar will certainly do everything in his power to get his hands on CM Punk after the latter ruined his dream of becoming World Heavyweight Champion, yet again.
There is a probability that despite being slapped with an indefinite suspension, McIntyre could gatecrash this week’s RAW and track down Punk’s whereabouts. Whether he finds him backstage or inside the ring, fans should expect chaos.
