5 things Shane McMahon has done during his time off from WWE
In one of the greatest pops in WWE history, Shane McMahon made his return to a WWE ring after nearly seven years away.
While that moment will be something in which fans will talk about for years ahead as one of the greatest moments in the history of the company, others will mention the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, and how he was the alternate opponent against The Undertaker as a result of John Cena being out with an injury.
Unfortunately, the storyline did not give fans much anticipation to the match. With the exception of it being announced as a Hell in a Cell match, the build was quite convoluted. Still, McMahon was able to perform another memorable stunt by jumping off the cell in an unsuccessful attempt to land on The Undertaker.
Thankfully, he left the match without severe injury and became the Commissioner for the SmackDown Live brand. It was expected that McMahon was simply coming back to help the company out since a huge void was left regarding The Undertaker match.
However, he has continued his run with the company, and it does not look like he is leaving anytime soon. While he was gone, though, he did manage to pursue a number of endeavours during his hiatus. Here are five things Shane McMahon has done since his time off from WWE.
#1 Became CEO of China Broadband, Inc.
The same year in which the split between him and WWE occurred, McMahon decided to take his experience to the field of digital media. He became Chief Executive Officer of China Broadband, Inc., which is a provider of broadband services based in Boulder, Colorado.
The mission for China Broadband, Inc, is to be a “provider of value-added services for the cable industry, including broadband internet, pay per view, and video on demand for viewers in the People’s Republic of China.”
