5 Things that could happen at WWE Survivor Series 2016
The WWE will present their annual Survivor Series event, this coming Sunday, November, 20th from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The event is sure to turn a lot of heads, as this will be just the second pay per view event, to feature talent from both Raw and Smackdown Live since the recent brand split.
The number of cross-brand matches is sure to add an interesting dynamic to the event. There will be three ‘Team Raw' versus ‘Team Smackdown Live' matches: a five-on-five men's match, a five-on-five women's match, and a ten-on-ten tag team match.
Fans can anticipate a number of things to take place but could be caught off-guard by certain twists. Who will retain their titles? Who will begin a feud against whom, and which allegiances will come to an end?
While some may consider these questions a mystery, events in recent weeks, have led us to believe the items listed below will happen. Here are five things WWE wrestling fans can anticipate happening at the 2016 Survivor Series.
#5 The Miz should retain
The Miz’s victory over Dolph Ziggler was a culmination of a compelling storyline and brought questions and criticism to an end. Fans were invested in Ziggler and always want to see him succeed, which made Miz's win that much more telling. Since joining the Smackdown Live brand, Ziggler came up short against Dean Ambrose, despite putting up a valiant effort.
He also lost to AJ Styles, who would eventually become the WWE World Heavyweight champion. These things suggested that, after losing countless times, future success for the Show Off was unlikely.
However, in his feud with The Miz, it became less about just winning the title, and more about the cost, Ziggler would pay in order to achieve it. Ziggler defeated The Miz to recapture the Intercontinental Championship. However, Ziggler's hard work and determination weren't enough.
So while it may have been hard to count Ziggler out, it feels impossible to count The Miz out, after doing whatever it took to recapture the Intercontinental Championship. It is difficult to count him out in his title defence at Survivor Series. It is unfortunate for Sami Zayn because the Intercontinental Championship will once again remain in SmackDown.
