5 Things that shouldn't happen at WWE Survivor Series 2016
The 30th annual Survivor Series will take place this Sunday night in Toronto, Ontario Canada. WWE has focused on the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Matches for the event, as it is a battle of Smackdown versus Raw. A division is at stake as well as Championships and overall bragging rights.
Survivor Series should serve as a catalyst for careers while planting seeds for the upcoming WrestleMania season. Careers have been born at the Fall Classic and moments stood the test of time.
While Roman Reigns would capture his first WWE Championship at last year’s Survivor Series, this year it is all about sticking together as a team, amongst the tension and drama that surrounds each team.
This was a clever way to get much of the talent involved while focusing on what Survivor Series is really about. With this being the second joint PPV since the brand extension started, there is potential to take advantage of some key scenarios.
It is hard to say what will happen at this point because there are so many factors involved, and there is bound to be some chaos that will erupt at some point during the night.
Furthermore, we can’t forget about the rematch that fans have been looking forward to for over a decade. Goldberg will take on Brock Lesnar, in what will most likely be the main event of this year’s event. One can hope that there will be a better effort in this rematch versus their original meeting twelve years ago.
Will the Beast Incarnate stand tall once more? Or will Goldberg have his number yet again?
While there will be debates on who should gain the victories on Sunday night, here are some things that must not happen at Survivor Series 2016.
#1 Roman Reigns winning for Team Raw
If Team Raw can pull together and get a win over Team Smackdown Sunday night, then the night should belong to Kevin Owens. Owens is the current Universal Champion, and the event will be in his home country. Giving Owens the rub is not only the right thing to do, but it will also further his case of the flagship show being the Kevin Owens Show.
Having Owens as the sole survivor gives him the ego boost he needs, plus credibility as the top guy on Raw.
The company must refrain from Reigns taking the win for the team – it will only sabotage Reigns more. Reigns is the secondary champion, and it must stay that way. If anything else, if tension boils over, I would like to see Owens throw Reigns under the bus so to speak, and find a way to get him pinned.
Reigns being pinned would be a shocker, and it gives Owens the heat he needs (technically speaking). This will also serve as a reason for Reigns to feud with him if those rumours are true.
