5 things that would make this WrestleMania memorable

WrestleMania is almost upon us, and all the cards have been drawn. We have some huge matches, and the rest of the card has been filled by average ones. The hype for this WrestleMania has been underwhelming, but when push comes to shove, the WWE always banked on their star power to put over the PPV, and that is what WWE has done once again, although there was no build up to the feuds, or no story to most of the matches. What makes a WrestleMania memorable? The WrestleMania itself! WrestleMania is the grand daddy of sports entertainment, and thus, the Super Bowl of the entertainment industry. But there are a few things that the WWE can do to make this WrestleMania one of the most memorable WrestleManias in the history. I look at five such possibilities that can really turn the tables in the professional wrestling industry, and leave the fans talking about this WrestleMania for years to come.

5. Return of Christian

Captain Charisma has been out of action for a really long time because of an injury, and although he is alright, his return has been kept on the side burner to concentrate on some other new talent. It would be great to see Christian returning at WrestleMania, and possibly turning heel by attacking a face. Christian has had a long history with Alberto Del Rio, and him attacking ADR right after his victory over Jack Swagger would throw the crowd in a frenzy.

4.  Orton turning heel

Orton has been a bland babyface for nearly 2 years now, and that is not working for him any more. Orton is a natural heel, and that is what he is best at. WWE has the Rybacks and the Sheamuses to count on if Orton’s not a face any more, and hence, the WWE should consider turning Orton heel at WrestleMania. There have been rumours and speculations that Orton will be turning heel soon, and it would be a perfect platform for Orton to turn heel at WrestleMania, costing his team mates the match, or even at the end of the match. Smackdown! lacks good heels, and Orton can add to that if the WWE takes that route.

3. Ziggler cashing in his MITB brief case

Ziggler has been an afterthought in the WWE, and considering he’s in line to become the World Heavyweight Champion, that is not a good thing. Ziggler has been the workhorse in the WWE for over 2 years now, and deserves a lengthy title run. Although Ziggler has showed a lot of promise, the WWE think tank for some reason has made him look like a glorified jobber, making him lose almost all of his TV and PPV matches, which doesn’t help Ziggler’s case. Ziggler has his own fan base who want him to win the ‘big one’, and that can happen at WrestleMania. Considering Christian doesn’t return and ADR retains the title, Ziggler can cash in his brief case to beat ADR, and become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

2. Cena turning heel

This is the most unlikely event to happen at WrestleMania (Yes, even more than Punk beating Taker), and although I know Vince will not take this direction, it’s a thought of ‘What if?’. Cena has said in his promos that he would ‘Shock the world’, and do something people never thought he’d do. Although that directly means beating The Rock for the WWE title, one has to wonder. If WWE finally takes that step and turns Cena heel, what would that mean in the WWE? It would be one of the most interesting phases as a fan, but as I previously said, this is highly unlikely. However, I bet that every fan out there would want to see what happens if this indeed takes place.

1. Punk ending Taker’s streak

Although this is the second unlikeliest thing to happen, it still ranks #1 in my books, as the streak has become a legend on its own. The Undertaker is almost out of gas, and this WrestleMania might be his last. Although I’ve said time and again that this will not happen, again, like Cena’s heel turn, it leaves a question of ‘What if?’. If Punk does end The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania, that would immediately make Punk the biggest superstar in the company’s history, bigger than the Cenas and The Rocks. Why? That’s how big ‘the streak’ is in the wrestling industry.

Those are the five things, in my opinion, that would make this WrestleMania not only memorable, but also one of the best WrestleManias of all time. Only time can tell if any of it happens, but if it does, then we can expect one heck of a show this Sunday night.
