5 Things we learned from Total Divas: Season 6, Episode 13

Renee Young captures two heels behaving like babyfaces

This week of Total Divas was just like any other in the past, where we learned new things about our favourite WWE Superstars. We discovered that beyond the lives they play on our television screens, they too are vulnerable and have problems of their own.

Sure, there is a great deal of fiction in what we get to see on this show, but there’s a layer of truth underneath it all, coinciding with the events on screen. The timeline for the show is just around the brand extension last year, when Raw and SmackDown Live became two separate brands, splitting the roster in two.

Without further ado, we present our recap of Total Divas, this week.

#5 Lana was devastated by the brand split

Despite having Rusev on Raw, Lana still felt quite lonely

The central crux of this whole episode was Rusev, Lana, Naomi and Renee Young’s trip to Anguilla, something that caused much friction among the divas. It all stemmed from the fact that Lana had been separated from her fellow divas after the brand split actually transpired, much like the days of her youth, when her shuttling between USA and Russia would separate her from friends she would make in either country.

Much like Naomi had insinuated in the last episode, with every year and new NXT call-ups, not only did divas feel threatened but they also felt much more alienated with new faces in the locker room. The brand split separated Lana from her best friend, Naomi, and made her bitter and insecure.

Hey, even if it is a scripted show, we do not doubt for a moment that there's an element of truth to this. We also learned that Rusev likes to walk around naked, but that is another story for another day.
