5 things we indirectly learned from WWE Raw – A regret regarding a feud, a failed cash-in? (3 June, 2019)
This was the last Monday Night RAW before Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia, which takes place on Friday. After a rather weak episode of RAW last week, we got a good one this time around, as it really helped build the intrigue for the Saudi Arabia show.
Before the show, Paul Heyman announced that Brock Lesnar would be cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Seth Rollins for the Universal Title on RAW. However, it didn’t happen (more on that later).
Apart from that, Lacey Evans had a match with Charlotte Flair, which was interrupted by Becky Lynch. Cross, accompanied by Alexa Bliss, also had a match with Peyton Royce.
The Phenom, too, came out and cut a promo to let Goldberg know that he is next.
In the meantime, Roman Reigns was smacked all around the ring by The Revival, Shane McMahon, and Drew McIntyre. A match between Reigns and McIntyre was also announced for Stomping Grounds, which brings us to the first of the five points here…
#5 A regret
WWE may have a regret of ending the feud between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre early. It all began after Reigns made his return after recovering from his leukemia.
McIntyre terrorized him and his Shield brothers prior to WrestleMania, and even beat Ambrose and Rollins in singles matches. However, he only faced Reigns in one match – and it was at WrestleMania itself – which the Scottish Psychopath lost.
After that, the feud ended with Reigns going to SmackDown. However, WWE have reignited it by making McIntyre Shane McMahon’s accomplice and announcing their match for Stomping Grounds.
It seems that the company realized that there is potential for more in this rivalry as it could also elevate McIntyre’s star (a win for him this time, please).
