During an interview on the Making Their Way To The Ring podcast, Sasha Banks opened up about her childhood. While growing up, she feared her father, who she claims was abusive to her mother. By the time she turned two, her father had abandoned the family and moved to Oregon to start a new life. Unable to make ends meet, Banks, her mother, and brother traveled across the US in search of a better life.

When she was 11 or 12, her mom relocated the family to Oregon to try to get help from her husband. Sasha's dad, who owned a restaurant and a record label, never helped them, despite having the money to be able to do so. She says she was miserable and depressed at that time. Finally, they packed and left Oregon in search of a new school.
