5 times Sami Zayn claimed there were conspiracies against him
In his initial NXT and main roster runs, Sami Zayn was everyone’s favorite babyface. He was the ultimate underdog, the man whom you cheered for despite the odds. No one in their wildest dreams could picture him ever doing something dastardly. That was until he did.
Since he turned heel a few years ago, fans have only come to appreciate Zayn more. His ability to excel as either villain or protagonist is a testament to the sheer talent the man possesses.
The Master Strategist’s greatest heel run came when he claimed everyone in WWE was conspiring against him. While we think his mediocre booking as a babyface was something that existed (wink wink), this was the perfect gimmick for someone with his history.
As expected, the former Intercontinental Champion ran away with his new character. Although he was cowardly and whiny onscreen, he genuinely made us believe that there were people plotting against him. Such was the genius of the character and, of course, the SmackDown Superstar.

#5. Sami Zayn decides to make a documentary exposing WWE
This will forever be remembered as an absolutely golden bit of heel work. Having lost the Intercontinental Championship, Sami Zayn finally snapped. He accused WWE of repeatedly trying to screw him out of his title.
The solution? Zayn declared that he would make a documentary exposing WWE for the frauds they were. Over the next several weeks, he went everywhere with a bunch of cameramen shooting everything that took place.

Sami Zayn’s latest program has seen him feud with Johnny Knoxville. Tensions escalated to another level between the pair when Sami was booted out of the premiere of Jackass Forever after confronting Knoxville.
Before that, however, Zayn had complained about there being a conspiracy against him at the Royal Rumble this year. The events that spiraled out from that claim led to him visiting the movie premiere, but his actions there saw him ejected, something he claimed was uncalled for.
Sami would then post an incredibly long, rambling thread about the whole ordeal on Twitter, claiming that he'd been "framed as the bad guy".
#3. He accused Paul Heyman of messing with him on RAW
Even Paul Heyman didn’t escape Sami Zayn’s list of evil conspirators. Back when he was on RAW, The Special Counsel served as the Acting Director of the show. Subsequently, Zayn blamed Heyman for leading the conspiracy against him on the red brand.
The two met up on an episode of Talking Smack, and Zayn put on a show. As a baffled Heyman listened, The Conspiracy Theorist proceeded to thank him for making him see the light. Sami's monologue was heavy with sarcasm, but everyone watching had a right laugh.
#2 He suggested WWE had infiltrated his crew
If you think this is getting progressively funnier, that’s because it is. Sami Zayn was so caught up in his delusion that one day, he ended up blaming one of his own documentary crew members for conspiring against him.
After losing a match thanks to said member causing an interference, Zayn was furious. He called the man an “undercover corporate plant” and accused him of being a WWE rat.
#1. His rant on the WWE hits hard
Sami Zayn cut one of the best promos of his career when he went on a rant about the WWE holding him back. His tirade backstage was the stuff of legend, as it earned critical acclaim for being so silly yet so convincing.
In it, Zayn accused WWE of sabotaging his run as Intercontinental Champion. He also slammed the company for disrespecting him despite pinning multiple top superstars. It was a phenomenal promo and one that really kicked the conspiracy theory storyline to the next level.
