5 Ways Jimmy Uso's arrest could affect booking at Elimination Chamber
Some shocking news came out earlier today regarding one half of the challengers for the SmackDown Tag Team titles, Jimmy Uso. Uso and his wife, Naomi, were stopped by policemen in Detroit last night due to Naomi driving the wrong way down a one way street.
During the arrest, Uso was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Obstruction according to TMZ and several reports including one from Cagesideseats.com. WWE even released a statement on the matter, stating that 'Jonathan Fatu is responsible for his own actions.'
Since Jimmy and Jey Uso are set to challenge the Miz and Shane McMahon for the SmackDown Live Tag Team titles this Sunday at Elimination Chamber, how will that affect things? Will it even matter?
Here are five ways that Uso's arrest could affect the booking around the SmackDown Live tag title match at Elimination Chamber.
#5 Nothing changes
One thing that could certainly happen is that WWE doesn't alter anything in terms of booking for the match. Perhaps Shane McMahon and the Miz were slated to win anyways, so maybe the Usos just lose clean. If that was their original plan, they could opt to punish him (if they do at all) after the PPV has passed since it occurred so close to the Elimination Chamber show.
WWE often rewrites episodes of Raw on the day on which it airs, so they likely do the same thing for PPVs. Vince McMahon can change his mind about something and that causes the writing squad to switch things up in a jiffy.
When Roman Reigns was 'suspended' for 30 days due to a wellness policy violation, he actually lost the WWE Championship to Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank in 2016 only for Dean Ambrose to cash in the same briefcase on Rollins. Reigns even lost to Finn Balor in a match to determine who would face Rollins at SummerSlam for the inaugural Universal Championship.
The fact is that depending on who the offender is and how severe the arrest is, WWE may simply postpone any punishment or not punish the superstar at all.
