5 WrestleMania Dream Matches That Never Came To Be
WrestleMania is the biggest event on the pro wrestling calendar. From the very first edition all the way back in 1985 to the global phenomenon that it has become today, it is very much the Super Bowl of wrestling.
For a match to have a prominent place on a WrestleMania card, it needs to be big. It needs to have drawing power. The likes of Stone Cold vs The Rock, Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker, matches that are so big they could only really happen at Mania.
There are some big matches that looked likely to go down at WrestleMania, but never did. Some of the biggest names in the industry seemed like they were on a collision course for the Grandest Stage of Them All, but for some reason these matches just never came to be.
#5 The Undertaker vs John Cena
Let's start with a big one and the most contemporary one, The Undertaker versus John Cena. Both men have done absolutely everything there is to do in their respective careers, aside from face each other at WrestleMania.
It's a match that has been rumoured to take place for years now, but for some reason, has never come to fruition. Big Match John has even made reference to the dream bout in promos, citing that he would love nothing more than to battle The Deadman.
Why WWE never pulled the trigger on this one remains unclear. It could be that they were waiting for the perfect time, only to discover that that time has passed and now it's too late.
