5 WWE records that are yet to be broken
It is not easy to break a record let alone set one. Some WWE Superstars have set records in the past only for these records to eventually be broken. However, there have been records set by top Superstars which have stood the test of time and these records have been able to elevate these Superstars to an elite class.
A WWE Superstar who is able to have their record unbroken for a long time deserves recognition. There are some records set on the big stage and are celebrated while there are some that we barely remember since the WWE rarely mentions them. However, a record is a record and the more it stands, the more it legitimises a Superstar as an icon.
Let us look at five records set by WWE superstars that are yet to be broken.
#5 Bruno Sammartino's 2803 days reign as champion
Bruno Sammartino was the most popular wrestler in the 1960s through to the mid-1980s. He held the WWWF World Heavyweight Championship for a record 2803 days.
During this reign, the "Living legend", as he was referred to, defended the title against the likes of Billy Graham, Killer Kowalski, Angelo Mosca, Ernie "The Cat" Ladd and George Steele. He also had memorable feuds against Stan Hansen and Freddie Blassie.
After holding the title for over three years, he dropped it to Superstar Billy Graham on April 20, 1977. Bruno was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
