5 WWE stars who should be crowned champions before 2024 ends
WWE has had an incredible year in 2024. Between Cody Rhodes finishing his story, The Rock turning into The Final Boss, the rise of Gunther, Rhea Ripley's major return, and some incredible storylines, it has been one of the best years for the company in recent history.
While it is fun to look back at the year that was, 2024 isn't over yet. There are several new episodes of RAW, SmackDown, and NXT still to come. Additionally, the Sports Entertainment juggernaut is set to host Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend.
Several championship matches have been announced, and others could still be booked before the year is over.
This article will take a look at five WWE Superstars who should win a title before the year ends. This includes a top tag team, an underrated member of the women's division, and a former world champion.
Below are five WWE stars who should be crowned champions before 2024 ends:
#5. Ludwig Kaiser should win the Intercontinental Title
Ludwig Kaiser is one of the most underrated wrestlers in WWE. He has a fantastic look, can wrestle as well as nearly anyone, and cuts fantastic promos. Despite that, he is often seen as nothing more than Gunther's lackey.
The German superstar has a massive opportunity ahead of him. The WWE RAW talent will go one-on-one with Bron Breakker on next week's show. Naturally, the coveted Intercontinental Championship will be on the line.
Kaiser just recently had a shot at the gold in a Triple Threat Match, but next Monday could be his shining moment. If he wins it, the Imperium member will finally be his own man, and fans will start looking at Ludwig as a serious singles star and not just Gunther's lackey.
#4. Erik & #3. Ivar, The War Raiders should dethrone The Judgment Day
The War Raiders are back! The tag team has long been absent, both in the sense that Ivar and Erik were battling injuries and because the WWE duo had been renamed The Viking Experience and then The Viking Raiders by Vince McMahon.
Erik and Ivar also have a big opportunity on WWE RAW next week. The War Raiders will take on The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for the World Tag Team Championship.
The War Raiders must win this match for multiple reasons. First and foremost, the two stars lost the last time they challenged for the gold. Beyond that, the World Tag Team Championship scene has been lacking, thanks to Finn and JD barely defending their title. Erik and Ivar could resurrect the prestige of the championship if they dethrone Balor and McDonagh next week.
#2. Finn Balor should win the World Heavyweight Championship
While Finn Balor is one-half of the World Tag Team Champions and should lose the title next Monday, that doesn't mean The Demon shouldn't win another championship before the year ends either. Finn Balor should win the World Heavyweight Title this weekend.
The Prince will challenge for the prestigious title at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. He will take on Damian Priest and reigning champion Gunther in a Triple Threat Match.
Finn needs to win this for a few reasons. Most notably, he hasn't been a world champion in over eight years. This is outrageous given his talent. Beyond that, he has fought for or tried to challenge for the belt on several occasions in the last year or so. Another defeat will kill his credibility.
#1. Michin should become the first-ever WWE Women's United States Champion
Michin has long been one of WWE's most underrated performers. She first joined the company through NXT and the Mae Young Classic but was later released by Vince McMahon. The 35-year-old returned in 2022 but didn't have a standout year until 2024.
Now, Michin is firing on all cylinders. She's a regular on SmackDown and even had a nice run on WWE NXT. Fans have been getting behind her, and Michin has also been putting on banger matches and telling fun stories. It is time for her to finally get a title.
Thankfully, she has a path towards gold. The Blasian Baddie is part of the Women's United States Championship Tournament. She has already advanced past the first round, so winning the gold at Saturday Night's Main Event this Saturday certainly seems possible.
