5 WWE Superstars who could become the face of RAW on Netflix
WWE Monday Night RAW will go live on streaming giant Netflix in January 2025. The historic deal, worth a whopping $500 million, was signed earlier this year between the global streaming giant and TKO, WWE's parent company.
As RAW goes on Netflix, the fans expect a plethora of changes in the show, ranging from aggressive storylines to more bloodshed in the matches, as there would be no restrictions on the product the way they are today.
According to reports, Netflix has also asked specifically for three top superstars to be featured on the show when RAW goes to Netflix. This article will list five superstars who could be the face of RAW on Netflix.
#1 CM Punk
The Straight Edge Superstar is one of the superstars Netflix has reportedly asked the Stamford-based promotion to feature on RAW next year. Punk is one of the most popular faces of WWE from the PG era.
Despite being away from WWE for nearly a decade (2014-2023), Punk remains one of the company's biggest faces. He made his return at Survivor Series: War Games 2023, sending waves of shock across the wrestling industry.
In 2014, Punk developed intensely sour relations with the management, especially former Chairman Vince McMahon. He had vowed never to return to the company.
However, things drastically changed when Triple H took charge of WWE affairs. In October 2023, Punk and Triple H worked out a new deal, and subsequently, he made his return.
The former WWE Champion's return produced huge dividends for the WWE. Though Punk remained injured in the first half of 2024, he still contributed to storylines and received enormous love from the fans. Since he is currently part of RAW, CM Punk is one of the top candidates who could become the face of the red brand on Netflix.
#2 Seth Rollins
Seth 'Freakin' Rollins is another candidate who might become RAW's face on Netflix. The former WWE Champion is one of the biggest superstars produced by the company in the last decade.
Since winning his inaugural WWE Championship at WrestleMania 31 in 2015, Rollins has gone to win the title again. He later won the WWE Universal Championship twice and was also the winner of the inaugural World Heavyweight Championship.
Rollins is currently tied up in a vicious rivalry with 'Big' Bronson Reed and might face the former NXT North American Champion at Survivor Series: WarGames this month. After Reed, Rollins is expected to begin a storyline with CM Punk, with whom he has real-life heat.
Seth Rollins is another top wrestler who can be Monday Night RAW's face on Netflix.
#3 World Heavyweight Champion Gunther
The current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is another top candidate for the face of RAW on Netflix. The Ring General is a highly skilled wrestler inside the ring, and his prowess is admired by legends like The Undertaker.
Gunther has remained a top superstar in the company since his main-roster debut in 2022. He is the longest-running Intercontinental Champion with a reign of 666 days.
He won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2024 after beating Damian Priest. He is also expected to defend his title against Priest later this month at Survivor Series: WarGames.
#4 Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes
The American Nightmare, part of the SmackDown brand, is the second superstar Netflix has asked to be featured on the show. While the roster of RAW hasn't been decided yet, Cody Rhodes could be asked to appear on it.
One possible reason the streaming giant asked Cody to be featured on RAW is that he is the company's current face. Since beating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes has become one of the biggest babyfaces in the company. He is the face of the company in Triple H's era and has an enormous fan following.
#5 Roman Reigns
The Original Tribal Chief was Netflix's third name pitched for a feature on RAW when the red brand went live on the streaming giant. Roman Reigns, like Cody Rhodes, is also part of the SmackDown roster.
The Big Dog has been the face of the Stamford-based promotion for the past decade, and even though he lost the championship this year to Cody Rhodes, Reigns is still a big draw. His popularity is also at an all-time high. His SummerSlam return video became WWE's most-watched video on the internet within no time.
Despite not being the Undisputed Universal Champion, his popularity is, in fact, higher than that of Cody Rhodes. His current Bloodline feud with Solo Sikoa is the company's top story at the moment. So, Netflix asking Reigns to be featured on RAW next year does make sense.
