5 WWE Superstars who could cost Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes at WWE Bad Blood
The Roman Reigns - Cody Rhodes alliance in the upcoming Bad Blood Premium Live Event has indeed piqued the interest of the WWE Universe. Fans are musing on how these two superstars could work together as they face Solo Sikoa’s version of The Bloodline.
While most of the wrestling folks are pretty much confident about the result of the upcoming fight being Reigns and Rhodes bagging the win, there is still that small possibility of another superstar interfering with it and ultimately costing them the match.
Who could they be? Check out the possible superstars who might thwart this mega-team.
#5. Kevin Owens
WWE Superstar Kevin Owens has quite a history with both Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. It is with the latter though where The Prizefighter has many bitter memories.
A notable one was during Owens’ match against Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble in 2023. He was brutalized by every member of The Bloodline while his long-time friend - Sami Zayn, who was an Honorary Uce at the time, helplessly watched him get eviscerated by the faction.
Owens has also had recent brushes with the new Bloodline and they left a path of destruction in their wake.
The recent confrontation between Rhodes and Reigns became one of the most talked about topics across Titanland. When asked about it, Owens evidently cannot believe what just transpired at the time as he was left speechless with the spot mentioned above. It is as if he felt betrayed by it since the two hugged it out after their match at Bash in Berlin, not to mention Rhodes considering him as his friend.
#4. Randy Orton
Similar to Kevin Owens, Randy Orton was pretty much irked with Cody Rhodes teaming up with Roman Reigns against The Bloodline at Bad Blood.
It was during the September 27 episode of SmackDown that The American Nightmare explained to The Viper why he will be teaming up with The OTC against Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline at the upcoming premium live event. Orton responded that there was no problem on his end unless he (Rhodes) made it one.
Prior to this, there were already subtle hints that Orton could be setting his crosshairs on Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship. To that end, the champ’s decision to form an alliance with Reigns could give Orton enough reason to turn on his friend and challenge him for the title.
#3. Jimmy Uso
The other half of The Usos - Jimmy Uso has been missing in action since April after he was viciously booted out from The Bloodline. Fans have been longing for his return to in-ring action and murmurings of his WWE comeback have gone rife recently. To that end, it is believed that he might be ending his hiatus in the upcoming Bad Blood PLE during the Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns match against The Bloodline.
As mentioned, he was given a heck of a sendoff by the family faction that he once served and now that he is likely to return, it is expected that he is bound to get his revenge. There were even rumors suggesting that he might tag along his Hall of Famer dad Rikishi into the mix.
#2. Brock Lesnar crashing into the party at Bad Blood
Another superstar who is likely to make a huge comeback is The Beast Incarnate himself - Brock Lesnar. There have been reports that his name was moved back to WWE’s active roster as this could be an indication of his imminent return.
WWE fans are well acquainted with the fact that he too had some history with both Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. Knowing Lesnar, he has this penchant for showing up and laying waste to whoever he comes across inside the ring.
Between Rhodes and Reigns, it is the latter whom he has had a legendary rivalry with. The last time they went at it inside the squared circle was during SummerSlam 2022 in a Last Man Standing Match where he failed to capture the titles that Reigns held at the time due to outside interference.
Despite the match being described as “the ultimate finale to end the feud,” things might not be over between them as Lesnar might want to get even with Roman Reigns. Now that he (Roman Reigns) has no one to help him and stands alone, The Beast might see it as a perfect opportunity to prey on him and get his revenge.
Another angle could be the other way around where he might attack Cody Rhodes instead. This is due to the fact that The American Nightmare currently holds the gold since he could be eyeing another championship run.
#1. The Rock could appear during the Cody Rhodes - Roman Reigns tag match
WWE color commentator Pat McAfee may well seem to have hinted when he told Cody Rhodes that a certain “big guy is coming back this week,” to which the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion questioned, “Which one?” While many believed that it could be Brock Lesnar, given the above-mentioned points in the previous entry, some speculate that it could be The Rock.
Reports suggest that The Final Boss doesn’t have any Hollywood obligations as of late which means everything is green for him to make an appearance in the upcoming Bad Blood PLE.
If he makes an appearance during Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns' tag match, fans can pretty much expect The Great One to be seen more often within the promotion. This could also translate that WWE is already laying the brickwork for the showdown between him and Cody Rhodes at next year’s WrestleMania 41.
