5 WWE Superstars who could become commentators

Corey Gra
Corey Graves is WWE's most popular commentator

The in-ring career of a WWE Superstar will only last for so long before they have to hang up the kick pads and boots and move on to find a new career outside of the squared circle.

While some write books, start a podcast or go into a well-deserved early retirement, others are so infatuated with the wrestling business that they end up calling the action on commentary.

Looking at the current crop of commentators on Raw and SmackDown Live, few would have expected while watching them during their in-ring careers that Corey Graves, Booker T, and Byron Saxton would be WWE’s top three color commentators in 2018, with David Otunga as back-up.

So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at five current WWE performers who would be welcome additions to the announce team once they retire from in-ring competition.

#5 Big Show

Big Show is expected to officially retire soon

Big Show kicks off our list for the simple reason that he is winding down his in-ring WWE career and he has already suggested that he could try his hand at commentating in the not-too-distant future.

“The World’s Largest Athlete” revealed to Sports Illustrated in December 2017 that he has spoken to Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John Bradshaw Layfield about becoming a commentator and that switching to the announce desk is “definitely a possibility”.

Big Show has always been good at promos throughout his career, particularly as a heel, and with so many people getting opportunities on commentary in the last couple of years, don’t be surprised if we hear the 7-footer calling some action soon, possibly on NXT.
