5 WWE Superstars who finished matches whilst seriously hurtÂ
Being a WWE Superstar is not an easy job.
Not only do you have to deal with being on the road, away from family, and constantly training, but there are these bumps you have to take on a daily basis in the ring.
Not only that, but there is always the risk of serious injuries, which can occur to any Superstar at any moment, regardless of how long they've been performing. For some, these injuries instantly bring a match to an end, but not for these Superstars. These wrestlers suffered some of the most devastating injuries of their careers, some of them even life-threatening, but were able to soldier on.
Here are five WWE Superstars who showed real intestinal fortitude by being able to finish matches whilst seriously hurt.
5: Shawn Michaels (Royal Rumble 1998)
When Shawn Michaels 'won' the WWF Championship from Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1997, things were going well for HBK.
Not only was he the champion, and his biggest foe gone from the company, but he also had his DX comrades helping him at all times.
At the 1998 Royal Rumble though, Michaels' career would forever change, when he was thrown to the outside of the ring by The Undertaker during their casket match.
His lower back landing on the side of the casket, Michaels would suffer severe damage but would continue the match, eventually toppling the Phenom thanks to a big assist by Kane.
Not only did he continue the match, Michaels would continue competing for months before losing the title to Steve Austin at WrestleMania 14, before retiring from the ring for four years until his return at Summerslam 2002.
