5 WWE Superstars who recently received an unexpected push
Since the WWE Draft in July, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan have dubbed Smackdown Live as the land of opportunity. That has been the case, as of late, as we have seen several instances of surprise pushes in 2017.
This article will include four WWE Superstars from Smackdown, as well as one 205 Live wrestler. A couple of these instances are in title pictures for the upcoming WWE Backlash pay per view on May 21st.
Not many people expect these surprise pushes to capture championships at the PPV, but the fact they are in a title picture shows that the WWE has a renewed faith in these talents.

#5 Mustafa Ali
205 Live debuted on the WWE network last November and has had a total of 22 episodes aired. Someone who has obtained a surprising push among the Cruiserweights is Mustafa Ali.
I call this unexpected because of his first round defeat in the Cruiserweight Classic last summer against Lince Dorado. The 205 Live show has enabled Ali to showcase his talents, and he has taken full advantage of it.
The push started several weeks ago when he won the opening match of 205 Live to take part in the 6-man elimination main event for a chance to face the Cruiserweight Champion. His great showing that night has made him a regular on Monday Night Raw and 205 Live since, and another chance at the championship is not far off.
