6 WWE Superstars you might not know were separated
One of the major issues that WWE Superstars, in particular, have to deal with is a punishing schedule that involves traveling for upwards of 300 days every year as they journey across the country and various foreign countries during overseas tours.
This can take a massive toll on the personal lives of these WWE superstars, especially when it comes to maintaining steady relationships. Even when you're seeing a fellow wrestler, it is a tough life, but for those who are married to people outside the business, it becomes a real challenge.
This is why a number of WWE Superstars endure failed marriages. So, without any further ado, here is our list of six WWE Superstars you might not know were separated:
#6 WWE Hall of Famer Edge
Those who follow Edge know that the Rated R superstar has been married to Beth Phoenix and has two children with her. What many fans may not know is that Edge has tied the knot twice before marrying Phoenix.
Edge was first married to Alannah Morley, sister of Val Venis. The couple got married in 2001, before parting their ways in 2004. He then married Lisa Ortiz on October 21, 2004. Things were going fine between the couple before Edge started an affair with Lita.
While the affair provided fans with an awesome storyline between Edge and Matt Hardy, it led to Edge's divorce from Ortiz in 2005. Edge married Beth Phoenix in 2016, living a happy life since then.
#5 Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair has grabbed the spotlight as one of the biggest names in the WWE women's division and one of the top performers on the roster. BButbefore she took her place as the best women's wrestler, she was involved with another professional wrestler who goes by the name of Bram.
If that name seems familiar, it is because he has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons in the past. An indie wrestler who failed in NXT, his marriage to Charlotte lasted from 2013 to 2015 before she left him for good.
#4 John Cena
John Cena is one of the biggest names in the wrestling world even today despite him being a part-timer. The 16-time World Champion carried the company on his back for the better part of his time with WWE. Unfortunately, being on the road constantly for more than a decade has had a toll on Cena's personal life.
Cena's relationship with Nikki Bella was well documented, so much so that they had a TV series covering it. John Cena even proposed to Nikki Bella in the ring after their win against The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33. Unfortunately, the couple separated in April 2018, just a month before their rumored wedding.
Before that, Cena was married to a woman named Elizabeth Huberdeau for three years between 2009 and 2012 before they separated.
Rumor has it that she filed for divorce because Cena was caught cheating on her with Mickie James and various other women as well. Cena married Shay Shariatzadeh in October 2020.
#3 Randy Orton
Randy Orton seems like a pretty calm and level-headed man these days, except for the occasional spark of a volatile temper. Back in the noughties, the temper was more volatile and less level-headed.
It was also during this phase in his life that he was married to a woman named Samantha Speno. You might have seen two different actresses playing her in WWE storylines where they decided to get her involved.
They were married for six years between 2007 and 2013. They divorced in 2013 but were separated as far back as 2012. Orton is now happily married to Kimberly Kessler and the pair can be seen regularly attending big WWE events such as the Hall of Fame ceremony.
#2 The Rock
For someone as high profile as The Rock, he sure keeps his private life out of the media spotlight. He is one of the biggest names in the world of professional wrestling and the biggest movie star on the planet, but rarely do you see any gossip about his love life.
That's because he has been seeing the same woman - Lauren Hashian - since 2007. But, prior to that, Rocky was married to a woman named Dany Garcia for ten years. But he apparently started seeing Hashian in 2006 before leaving his wife for her a year later. Their daughter, Simeone, is currently training to be a wrestler at the Performance Center.
In August 2019, Dwayne Johnson tied the knot with Lauren in Hawaii. The couple have two children together.
#1 The Undertaker
Those who follow The Undertaker's life know that he is married to former WWE Diva Michelle McCool. Other than that, though, there is little indication of what his love life entailed - except for a tattoo on his neck that said, Sara.
That would refer to Taker's second wife, Sara Frank, to whom he was married for seven years between 2000 and 2007. Before that, he was married for the first time in his life to Jodi Lynn for ten years - 1989 to 1999.
Finally, in 2010, he got married to McCool and has lived a happy life since.
