6 infamously hilarious comments in WWE history

The Great One!
The Great One!

Pro wrestling thrives on the action inside the ring as well as the comments hurled by the performers at each other. They get a rush as well as applause from the crowd, which then motivates them in the subsequent action.

WWE history is littered with verbal insults and below-the-belt remarks. They make us cringe and applaud at the same time. Few of them are done within the limits of the characters, other times they come out of it.

Here are six infamous wrestling comments.

#6 Stone Cold Steve Austin

Steve Austin and Booker T shared a love-hate relationship. Austin was insulting Booker T on an episode of SmackDown in 2001 by daring him to face The Texas Rattlesnake in the ring. Tazz was running commentary and thought he had enough of Austin’s insulting words. Tazz shared a bitter past with Austin from 'WCW/ECW Alliance' days.

He headed to the ring to confront Austin, and on seeing him in the ring, Austin said,

“Unless Booker T got real short, and real fat, real quick, you ain't no Booker T!”

Sadness was evident on Tazz's face, with the realisation that his place was now behind a desk.

#5 Paul Heyman

The wrestlers of ECW and John Bradshaw Layfield shared a hostile relationship. JBL was a staunch critic of ECW, and he had recently had an extended (9 months) WWE Championship reign on SmackDown.

Most people thought he was lucky to be the champion instead of popular wrestlers such as Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, and The Undertaker.

JBL got a chance to air his views on 2005's 'ECW One Night Stand', where he spoke about bounced cheques and business malpractices of ECW and Paul Heyman. Heyman, who was present at the event delivered a powerful rebuttal to JBL. He said,

“The only reason you were WWE Champion for a year is because Triple H didn't want to work Tuesdays!”

This must have left JBL's head hanging in shame.

#4 Daniel Bryan

John Cena and Daniel Bryan didn't see eye to eye. This incident happened before their battle at SummerSlam 2013. On Miz TV in 2013, they stood in the ring and exchanged a few words. Bryan wore a t-shirt similar to that of Cena with 'The Champ Is Here' printed on the front. Bryan then told Cena,

“This shirt is a parody of you, because I think you are a parody of wrestling”

This must have been a stinging comment because Cena had always boasted about his victories and contribution to WWE.
