6 Massive storylines set up at WWE SummerSlam 2024

WWE SummerSlam 2024 was arguably one of the best premium live events of the Triple H era, delivering edge-of-seat action from start to finish. The Cleveland show featured four title changes, two massive betrayals, and one earth-shattering return. There was also an epic cash-in tease, making for a blockbuster night all over the card.

While four title reigns came to an end, multiple storylines were either furthered, renewed, or ignited. Coming out of The Biggest Party of The Summer, Triple H and the company will have a huge assortment of ingredients with which to cook up the product for Bash In Berlin and beyond. So, which feuds and matches might we see as a result of the events in the Cleveland Browns stadium?

#6 & #5. The Judgment Day's implosion at WWE SummerSlam 2024 set up two blockbuster rivalries

WWE SummerSlam 2024 will go down as one of the most pivotal nights in the history of The Judgment Day. First, Dominik Mysterio betrayed Rhea Ripley to align with Women's World Champion Liv Morgan. Then, Finn Balor turned his back on Damian Priest, costing the latter the World Heavyweight Championship.

These shocking twists left fans' mouths agape, and there's no doubt that just like the audience, Ripley and Priest will be looking for explanations. The Punishment and The Eradicator will most likely also be looking for revenge, setting up future rivalries against their respective traitors. What's for sure is that The Judgment Day will never be the same again.

#4. Tiffany Stratton's cash-in attempt teased a future rivalry with new WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax

In the midst of Nia Jax's SummerSlam match with Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship, Tiffany Stratton attempted to cash in her Money in The Bank contract. The Buff Barbie's attempt never got going as she was instantly foiled by The Role Model, but her interference helped Jax deliver her finish and win the title. The duo then celebrated together, showing no signs of friction.

Their conflict of interest was not addressed even during the post-show press conference, painting a picture of paradise in their friendship. However, with The Irresistible Force now holding the title, it's only a matter of time until the duo butt heads. The only question is, how long will it take for their friendship to implode?

#3 & #2. Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk at SummerSlam set up two matches for The Voice of The Voiceless

After months of heated feud, Drew McIntyre defeated CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam 2024. The Scottish Warrior pinned Punk after a storytelling masterclass, securing the victory by Seth Rollins' three-count. The special guest referee did not come out of the match unscathed, receiving a GTS from Punk while discharging his duties.

One gets the feeling that The Second City Saint is not done with either man. Rollins will most likely seek revenge for the ex-AEW star's attack, although it came from a misunderstanding. Meanwhile, McIntyre left the stadium with his bitter enemy's bracelet, the latter's Achilles heel in Cleveland.

Coming out of SummerSlam, the seeds have been sown for Punk vs. Rollins and Punk vs. McIntyre II.

#1. Roman Reigns' SummerSlam 2024 return set up a battle for family supremacy with Solo Sikoa

Roman Reigns made his much-anticipated WWE return at SummerSlam 2024, costing Solo Sikoa his Undisputed Championship match in the main event. The Original Tribal Chief interestingly steered clear of Sikoa's opponent, Cody Rhodes, seemingly showing deferential respect to the man who dethroned him.

Reigns' actions in Cleveland will likely not be taken lying down by his former Enforcer. The Street Champ will not relinquish his seat at the head of the table without a fight, meaning that Reigns will have to face a huge fight to reclaim his position. This battle for the control of The Bloodline is sure to give fans a rivalry of epic proportions.
