Which WWE Superstars could ask for their release next?

So far in 2019, one of the biggest stories surrounding the WWE has been a spate of Superstars asking for their release. The most recent Superstars released were TJP, Hideo Itami and Tye Dillinger - the latter two being granted released after requesting it.

And then, there are the rumours surrounding Dean Ambrose's WWE future. Reports surfaced after the Royal Rumble that Ambrose had rejected a big-money offer from WWE to sign a new deal.

The reason stated in the reports were that Ambrose was not satisfied from a creative standpoint. Obviously, there were the rumblings that Ambrose could leave WWE and sign for All Elite Wrestling but nothing is certain right now. He could still do a 180 a re-sign with WWE if they make him an offer he can't refuse. We know one thing, Dean Ambrose will be a bigger loss to WWE than TJP, Itami and Dillinger combined.

With the recent departures from WWE, we thought it would be interesting to speculate which Superstars could be the next ones to ask for their release from the main roster.

#5 and 6 - Gallows and Anderson

Gallows and Anderson signed with WWE to much fanfare from the hardcore fans at the same time as AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. However, unlike Styles and Nakamura, Gallows and Anderson never got a chance to show what they were capable of.

Almost since the moment they debuted, they were a victim of 50-50 booking, meaning that WWE fans who had no idea of their reputation in Japan had no reason to get excited or to get behind them. That terrible "old day" segment didn't help either.

Gallows and Anderson's contracts are reportedly up later this year and with the duo still not doing much on SmackDown, they could be looking at AEW wondering if there's a spot for them on that roster and thinking about asking for an early release from their WWE contracts.
