6 shows coming to WWE Network and Peacock this weekend - Roman Reigns aligns with unlikely name on past SmackDown, major PLE
The clock is ticking and soon the bulk of WWE programming will be moving to Netflix, at least internationally. That will mean beyond a select handful of markets, the traditional WWE Network will no longer be around and both Peacock and Netflix will become the focus going forward.
In the meantime, there is still new programming arriving on-demand for both platforms, even with the impending move to Netflix. For example, a new episode of RAW Talk was added to Peacock on Monday.
Wednesday featured a month-old edition of Monday Night RAW added on-demand, which was a two-hour episode. Thursday then featured a new edition of This Week In WWE added to the archives.
Next, six full-length shows will soon stream or arrive on-demand to both streaming platforms. This includes the next premium live event, a past episode of SmackDown, new in-ring action, and more. What can fans check out over the coming days?
Below are six shows coming to WWE Network and Peacock this weekend.
#6. The SmackDown LowDown will air
The SmackDown LowDown is back with a brand new episode this weekend. The program will air at 10 PM EST, immediately following SmackDown on USA Network on Friday, December 6.
The series features analysis from WWE staff members Sam Roberts and Megan Morant. In addition to the two breaking down the action from the blue brand, three interviews from the arena are spliced into the program.
The full-length video can be seen on-demand, but most of the interviews can be seen above. Rhea Ripley from RAW was the first to be interviewed, followed by the entirety of Legado del Fantasma. Interestingly, The Street Profits also cut a promo, but it wasn't included in the video above.
#5. NXT Deadline 2024 & #4. Countdown to NXT Deadline 2024
WWE's final premium live event of 2024 will be streaming this weekend. More specifically, NXT Deadline 2024 will be streaming on Saturday, December 7. The show will begin airing at 7 PM with no official end time released.
The card for Deadline looks mostly stacked. There will be two Iron Survivor Challenge Matches, one for the male stars and one for the women. Additionally, Trick Williams' NXT Championship and the tag team titles will be on the line. Additionally, an NXT Underground Match has been booked.
Before all of the action, World Wrestling Entertainment will air a pre-show. The Countdown to NXT Deadline 2024 will begin at 6 PM EST and it is scheduled for one hour. As of now, no match has been announced for the Countdown show.
#3. WWE Main Event & #2. Friday Night SmackDown, two shows that aired elsewhere will arrive
Two programs that recently aired on other platforms will soon be added to the WWE Network and Peacock archives. This includes Main Event, which first airs internationally now that the Hulu deal has expired, and Friday Night SmackDown, which is first showcased on the USA Network.
WWE Main Event from November 21, 2024, will be added to the archives on Saturday, December 7. This show featured Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker battling Otis of The Alpha Academy, plus The Authors of Pain fighting Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro of the Latino World Order.
Friday Night SmackDown from November 8, 2024, will arrive on Sunday, December 8th. This show was notable, as, after a lot of tension, Roman Reigns aligned himself with and reunited with Sami Zayn. The Tribal Chief, The Usos, and Sami stood tall as a unit, meaning The O.G. Bloodline could rise again.
#1. NXT Level Up will stream
The final entry on this week's list will be a new episode of NXT Level Up. The NXT b-show will begin streaming immediately following The SmackDown LowDown, which airs after Friday Night SmackDown. Typically, Level Up begins at around 10:30 PM EST. It will stream tonight, on Friday, December 6.
As a reminder, NXT Level Up doesn't arrive on the Peacock archives immediately after airing. This was initially due to a Hulu contractual obligation but is now related to international contracts.
Two matches have been booked for this week's show, which is likely due to an upcoming double-taping of NXT proper. When this happens, Level Up only features two matches instead of the standard three.
One bout on the show will see Dion Lennox take on Jasper Troy. Perhaps the more intriguing match will see weeks of tension boil over when Lainey Reid goes one-on-one with Layla Diggs.
