6-time champion set to return after 557 days on WWE SmackDown tonight? Exploring potential hint for the season premiere
WWE SmackDown is all set to premiere on the USA Network tonight, and the excitement is palpable. After five whole years on FOX, the blue brand is changing networks, and expectations are high. In particular, the fans are expecting a couple of big-name returns, and one of them might be a six-time champion who hasn't been seen in a ring in 557 days.
The six-time champion in question here is Carmella. The former four-time 24/7 Champion, one-time SmackDown Women's Champion, and one-time Women's Tag Team Champion was last seen exactly 557 days ago on the March 6, 2023, episode of RAW. Since then, she has been on hiatus, but now her potential return has been hinted at by none other than her husband, Corey Graves.
Taking to X (fka Twitter), Graves tweeted an update, reminding his followers and the wider WWE Universe that tonight is the season premiere of SmackDown on the USA Network. But what was most intriguing about the tweet was that he said he had a feeling that tonight was going to be special. Well, what could be more special than the in-ring return of his wife, Carmella?
"Woke up with a feeling that tonight is gonna be special. Here. We. Go." wrote Corey Graves.
It would be great to see the Princess of Staten Island back on TV. But, as things stand, this is nothing more than speculation, and we will have to wait till tonight to see what goes down.
Kevin Owens is expecting a mystery partner for his tag team match tonight on SmackDown
Speaking of returns, there is a strong possibility that we might see one during a match tonight on SmackDown. The Prizefighter, Kevin Owens, is scheduled to take on Austin Theory and Grayson Waller with the help of a mystery partner. This was announced exactly a week ago on the previous episode, but there haven't been many hints as to who it could be.
Of course, the rumor mill is awry with potential names, with the most popular being John Cena or Randy Orton. Seeing Orton team up with Owens wouldn't be all that surprising, as he's done it before. As for Cena, he too teamed up with KO back when the latter's feud with The Bloodline was at its peak.
Regardless, the match is bound to be entertaining and interesting. But there is no doubt that fans will be waiting with bated breath for the reveal.
