6 WWE stars who could return and enter the Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Two-time winner, Vengeful Eradicator & more
With several WWE stars currently out of action with injuries, any number of them could return and enter the Money in the Bank matches.
Last year's contests had seven participants each, so it's reasonable to expect the same number of competitors for the 2024 ladder matches. Once Clash at the Castle is in the books, the build to Money in the Bank will take center stage in WWE.
Some big names and former champions are currently on the sidelines. The next six WWE stars could return and compete in the Money in the Bank ladder matches and fight for an opportunity for a guaranteed title shot.
#6. Raquel Rodriguez has circled the title picture on the main roster
Unfortunately for Rodriguez, she's been in and out of action for the last year and a half. Her battle with the immune disorder MCAS has taken away most of the last two years from her.
She was able to return briefly in the late fall before being forced to sit on the sidelines once again. Her fortunes were up again as she returned to fill the last spot for the Women's Elimination Chamber match in Perth.
After that event, however, Rodriguez was knocked out of commission again due to MCAS. If she's currently in a remission period, she could very well return and compete in Money in the Bank. Rodriguez has a built-in angle with Liv Morgan, her former tag team partner, and current Women's World Champion.
#5. Bobby Lashley has been missing from SmackDown
Bobby Lashley has been off of SmackDown since the 2024 WWE Draft. Before that, he finished a feud with The Final Testament at WrestleMania 40.
Since that time, The Street Profits have backed up different stars including LA Knight (against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) and Kevin Owens (against The Bloodline).
While The All Mighty is one of the older stars on the roster, he hasn't captured Money in the Bank contract before. He could be involved in the match due to being a former champion. Lashley would be a threat to either titleholder.
#4. Alexa Bliss is a former Money in the Bank winner
Depending on her desire to return, Alexa Bliss could make a triumphant comeback to WWE any time. She has been inactive for a year and a half due to pregnancy, welcoming her first child in late November 2023.
Being an athlete, however, could also mean that she wanted to get back into shape as soon as possible. Ronda Rousey, Lacey Evans, and Becky Lynch all took time off to give birth before returning to WWE.
The former multi-time women's champ has already won the briefcase but is nonetheless an important roster member. She's one of the few women who can portray multiple characters.
#3. Rhea Ripley could return for revenge on Liv Morgan
While ACL, MCL, and PCL injuries take nearly a year to heal, arm injuries are different. Rhea Ripley's shoulder was injured on a subsequent episode of WWE RAW after a successful title defense against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40.
The injury has kept her out of action since early April. When Money in the Bank rolls around, Mami may be healthy enough for a return. She could pursue the title she never lost that's now held by her enemy.
Ripley hasn't previously captured the Money in the Bank case and would be a believable winner. It may be too much too soon again for her to get another huge accolade but her standing in WWE has surely risen over the last few years.
#2. Charlotte Flair could return sooner than usual
Today's athletes are different than those of even a decade ago. Medicine has improved and workout warriors like Seth Rollins and Charlotte Flair can heal quicker due to their conditioning.
The Queen injured her knee at the end of December 2023, causing her to miss the last six months. If she busts her tail to reemerge before the original timetable of nine months to a year, she could pop up on the road to Money in the Bank.
Having Flair return would shake up either show's division since she'd likely be booked in an immediate title program. Returning and competing in Money in the Bank could set up a non-title program for The Queen, leading to a big match at SummerSlam 2024.
#1. CM Punk has won Money in the Bank twice
He's already won two briefcases and shouldn't need to win a third to earn a title match. It still doesn't mean that CM Punk couldn't return soon and potentially enter this year's ladder match.
Punk has already popped up on RAW while injured, so it could be a matter of time before he is cleared. He also recently confronted NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez after her big win at Battleground.
Drew McIntyre would likely try to prevent him from winning, adding another layer to their ongoing feud. Punk recently returned to RAW to troll McIntyre. He tore his triceps at the end of January and could be cleared soon.
