7-time WWE champion to quit Monday Night RAW due to the OG Bloodline's actions? Exploring potential twist

A former WWE Champion could soon leave Monday Night RAW and move to Friday Night SmackDown. This past Monday on the red brand's show, Drew McIntyre returned and attacked Sami Zayn to close the episode. Drew is a three-time WWE World Champion, a one-time Intercontinental Champion, a one-time NXT Champion, and a two-time tag team champion.

The Scottish Warrior has had problems with the OG Bloodline for years, and Sami again joining forces with Roman Reigns could be why McIntyre attacked The Underdog from The Underground. The Scottish Psychopath doesn't let go of his opponents that easily. However, he could do it this time to avoid unwanted trouble.

This is to avoid trouble with Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline and to move on peacefully. Over the past few years, Drew McIntyre has always been on the wrong end whenever he has tried to go toe-to-toe with the OG Bloodline.

With Netflix coming into the picture, WWE has opened its trade window as the streaming giant wants major stars on its platform. The streaming giant reportedly wants Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk on the red brand.

If the company keeps up with these requests, the OG Bloodline, including Roman Reigns, could be a part of RAW. This trade could be bad news for McIntyre's career, as the faction could go after the former world champion. Hence, he could ask for a trade to Friday Night SmackDown to avoid Roman Reigns and Co. That said, the angle is speculative at this point.

Triple H comments on Drew McIntyre's return to WWE TV

Drew McIntyre went on a hiatus after a brutal Hell in a Cell Match at Bad Blood 2024. However, an injury to ''Big'' Bronson Reed at Survivor Series: WarGames led to an early return of The Scottish Warrior.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated at the Netflix media event, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H spoke about McIntyre's return to television. The King of Kings revealed the former WWE Champion was ''dying to come back.''

“He was dying to come back. He wasn’t hurt; he wasn’t injured. Let’s just give you a little breather here for a second. And whether that’s spending some time at home enjoying your family, whatever that is, or whether that’s, 'Hey, I have this other project I wanna work on. I have this project that Netflix has come up with; I’m gonna work on that. Whatever!' Us having that ability to morph and shift things around and keep things fresh, I think, is a tremendous opportunity for us,” he said.

With the trade window opening, it will be interesting to see how the respective rosters shape up come January. Last night on SmackDown, we saw Gunther talking to GM Nick Aldis. This means Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns moving to the flagship show is highly possible. It will be fascinating to see how things unfold in the coming weeks.
