The violence of either grief or joy, their own enactures with themselves destroy.

--William Shakespeare, Hamlet Act III

Sometimes it's hard to fathom why if humankind has been able to send rockets into orbit and create smartphones and the internet, we still haven't solved the problem most inherent to our existence; Violence.

All around the globe, violence perpetuates itself on a large scale, such as the war in Syria, to the local, with white supremacists running over and killing counter-protesters in America. The fact is, humanity isn't certain why some people choose to be violent more than others.

The heinous attack on Bret Hart at the Hall of Fame ceremony is just the latest example of a rare but serious problem in pro wrestling; The fans who become too emotionally involved in the program and seek to violently insert themselves.

It remains to be seen what motive Bret Hart's attacker had, because Hart was not involved in any active storylines. Unfortunately, it has happened before in sports entertainment.

Here are seven times fans got physically involved with pro wrestlers.

#1: Jeff Jarrett thinks it's all part of the show--at first.

Jeff Jarrett once had a fan get involved in one of his matches.

Jeff Jarrett is a WWE Hall of Fame member and a backstage producer, though he sometimes laces up the boots to compete, like in his recent program with Elias.

However, for many years Jeff Jarrett was the owner and driving force of TNA wrestling. Even after Dixie Carter bought a majority share, Jarrett remained the head booker. So he had his hand in everything going on with his company.

So imagine his surprise when Rey Mysterio leaps up onto the apron to taunt him. He must have been thinking "When did I sign Rey Mysterio?" A confused Jarrett attempts to use sports entertainment style punches and kicks until he realizes his opponent is not 'selling' and is in fact not Rey Mysterio at all.
