8 swerves Triple H is most likely to pull off at WWE SummerSlam 2024

Triple H has been WWE’s chief content officer for quite a while now. He has been doing tremendous work by dishing out compelling storylines and awesome matches.

Because of these, many believe that the Stamford-based promotion has entered its Renaissance era under Triple H's leadership. He has indeed elevated the quality of the company’s programming, which has resulted in renewed interest from old fans and enticing new ones.

SummerSlam 2024 is just around the corner, and it is expected that the upcoming PLE will treat the WWE Universe to top-notch matches. Another thing to look out for is the possible swerves Triple H might pull off during what is dubbed The Biggest Party of the Summer.

Here are some plausible scenarios that the former champion might be hiding under his sleeve.

#8. Giovanni Vinci attacks Gunther at SummerSlam

Giovanni Vinci was a former member of the Gunther-led faction known as the Imperium until he was kicked out of the wrestling collective by his former teammate Ludwig Kaiser back in April.

The Superstar has not been seen ever since, as he was pretty much written off WWE television. Vinci may have pretty much recuperated from the injury that was inflicted on him and could be waiting for the perfect opportunity to get his revenge.

The upcoming SummerSlam in Cleveland will feature former WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther facing reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest as the former attempts to capture the latter’s title. Vinci could capitalize on this and thwart The Ring General’s plans to become a world champion. This, of course, if Triple H adds such a swerve at SummerSlam.

#7. Triple H might ask Jake Paul to come to Logan Paul’s aid at SummerSlam

As mentioned, the upcoming SummerSlam PLE will be held at the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Ohio, which is the home state of current United States Champion Logan Paul. To that end, there is a possibility that the champ’s younger brother, Jake Paul, might lend a helping hand if things go south during his match against LA Knight.

It can be recalled that Jake came to Logan’s aid during the Crown Jewel PLE in Saudi Arabia back in 2022 when he fought then Undisputed champion Roman Reigns.

Logan would do anything that he could to retain the US title, as was evident with his previous title defenses. LA Knight will come prepared, especially with The Maverick’s dirty tactics. But will he be prepared if another Paul shows up during the match?

#6. The Miz turning heel

It sure is refreshing to see WWE Superstar The Miz as a babyface on the main roster alongside his tag team partner R-Truth. However, the two-time WWE Champion could likely turn on his teammate, as this could happen during this year’s SummerSlam.

The Miz is very vocal about his preference for being a bad guy in WWE, as he finds satisfaction in being despised by fans. Further, both critics and fans would agree that a lot of his widely praised spots and promos were done when he was a heel.

It might only be a matter of time before The Miz turns to the dark side anew, as some fans believe that it might all go down at SummerSlam if Triple H allows it.

#5. Ricochet’s WWE exit was just a ploy, and he attacks Bron Breakker

It came as a shock to fans when it was revealed that Ricochet had given notice to WWE that he wanted out of the Stamford-based promotion. But what if this was just a ploy and he shows up at SummerSlam to attack Bron Breakker?

It can be recalled that Ricochet was written off from WWE television by Breakker, not to mention that the promotion released a statement on social media that he would be out for an undisclosed amount of time due to the injuries that he sustained.

However, it was also mentioned that it was done in preparation for his departure from the company. With that in mind, many believe that The Future of Flight is AEW-bound, though nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

#4. Dominik Mysterio betraying Rhea Ripley

This week’s edition of RAW saw Dominik Mysterio humiliate current WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Dirty Dom was so brutal with his words that the champ was in tears after the promo.

While it is quite convincing that both Dom and Rhea Ripley have already straightened things out, some fans and pundits believe that the former is already plotting to betray the latter and side with Morgan.

Let's see how Triple H and his creative team would do on this compelling storyline.

#3. SummerSlam could see the return of Alexa Bliss

This year’s SummerSlam might also see the long-awaited return of former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. The WWE Superstar has been on maternity leave since early last year, and fans believe that she might finally end her hiatus at the upcoming PLE.

Before her pregnancy, she had an involvement with the Bray Wyatt storyline, where she got corrupted, resulting in an otherworldly persona similar to the late great Superstar. Now that Bo Dallas has continued his brother’s legacy by assembling Wyatt Sicks, there is a possibility that she might get included in the creepy collective.

Triple H may have thought of this already and is just waiting for the right moment to roll it out.

#2. Randy Orton betraying Cody Rhodes signaling his heel turn

There are already hints that Randy Orton is on his way to becoming a heel and could turn on his friend and current Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. To that end, Triple H might put it into play at SummerSlam.

It is known, though, that both Orton and Kevin Owens were taken out by Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline, who made sure that no one from the champ’s side would come to the rescue if other members of the heel faction interfered during the match. To that end, while there is no indication that Orton would betray Rhodes at SummerSlam, there is still a chance that he might do so.

#1. Cody Rhodes getting help from Roman Reigns could be pulled off by Triple H

The feud between reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns was one of the most intense rivalries in WWE. What made it even more compelling was the inclusion of The Great One himself – The Rock.

Originally, it was the blood brothers who were supposed to face each other at WrestleMania 40. However, through the roaring fan support, such a plan was changed as Triple H pushed through with the rematch that led to The American Nightmare winning the title.

Fast forward to the present day, and Rhodes is scheduled to face The Bloodline’s Head of the Table, Solo Sikoa, for the Undisputed WWE Championship. It is expected that if things go south for Sikoa, his henchmen (Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu) will be there to interfere.

Triple H could pull off the biggest swerve at this year’s SummerSlam by making Roman Reigns help Cody Rhodes if the above-mentioned scenario happens. This will signal Reigns’ face turn after years of being the promotion’s top heel.
